Because one shows your public approval of a post while the other is personal. You still get reputation points via the Like button - only it's a very small amount.

I'm fine with being politically correct but, we've become limited (not just the forum but society in total) it what we can like and dislike, say and cannot say these days...

If I think someone is being a troll or flat out lying I want to be able to press the dislike button without telling them I think they're lying or trolling because I dislike getting an infraction for it.

If the dislike buttons bothers members then it should be removed. New members get their posts disliked and they decide to go to another forum. The dislike button has a tendency to create grudges and such with members. It is best that it is gone.

Can we not just draw a line in the sand and accept the fact it either comes back or not and if it does, it will be tweaked to suit all in agreement if its return... and put this matter to rest, its not a massive lost to the forum at all...

It is flat out ridiculous that some members just have to be so immature as to constantly slap dislikes on a post just because of who posted it.

This happened because Black Wolf complained to the mods that I disliked 10 posts of hers in a 10 day span out of 70+ posts she made in that same stretch of time.

I never went out of my way to do it and didn't take any extra time to troll around to find her posts to dislike them either...Apparently disliking 10 posts out of roughly 80 or so is harassment. It wasn't even in one day either.

And I agree...this forum has become ridiculously strict and "coddles" its members like they're infants.

Yes, it is unpleasant to be flamed and called names, but that's not what has me the most concerned.

It's messing up the chemistry of this forum. You got threads keep going off topic and everything. It's just trouble.

I really like this forum, I really do. However, it might be best if I leave permenantly and leave forums alone period. It's so much drama and mess.

This is a big decision to make, because when or if I leave this forum, I'll done with it and forums period.

If I decide to leave, don't worry. I won't post in the "Goodbye" thread in off topic, I'll just take my stuff down and not post any more.

For those of you who would like to keep up with me and maybe even get to know me even better, now is the time to pm me for other contacts and maybe even my PSN ID.

You disliked a post where she was welcoming back another member. Lol. And you made it clear to another staff member that you would continue disliking her posts and that we could do whatever. If you want to convince the admins that you've turned over a new leaf, this isn't the way to go about doing it.
