Virginal virtue: Brazilian woman auctions off chastity to raise money for poor famili

A Brazilian student joined an Australian documentary titled 'Virgins Wanted' and agreed to auction off her virginity to the highest bidder, the proceeds of which will be used to build homes for poverty-stricken families.

The auction's winner will be tested for sexually transmitted diseases prior to the encounter, and the woman, Brazilian national Catarina Migliorini, will be tested to prove she is a virgin. The intimate act will take place on a private jet heading from Australia to America, as a way of circumventing prostitution laws.

Internet bidding has already reached $160,000.

“The winner will be entitled to at least an hour with me. He cannot act out fantasies, use sex toys, nothing. It is also mandatory to use a condom and can only take my virginity, nothing more,” Catarina Migliorini said in a statement published in the Sao Paulo daily newspaper Folha. “He can talk. But no kissing,” she said, adding that she expects her partner to be “a man older than me.”

“Of course, my first time will not be filmed. This is not porn, otherwise I would die of shame. The producer will shoot until I get on the plane,” Migliorini said. She described herself as a “very, very romantic girl.”

The 20-year-old virgin will receive $20,000 and 90% of the final auction price, after bidding ends on October 15. She is reportedly planning to use the money to open a non-governmental organization and invest in a public housing project for poor families in her native town of Santa Catarina.

“For me, it's not prostitution,” Migliorini said. “When someone does something once in his or her life, this is not considered a profession. If you take a picture and it comes out good, you are not a photographer because of it.”

“I have no problem with prostitution. It's the oldest profession in the world and should be legalized,“ she said.

Her role in 'Virgins Wanted' sparked heated debate on the Internet, with many calling the girl “sick,” and insisting that “it is prostitution, however noble the use of the proceeds.”

Director Justin Sisely will record her emotions before and after her the experience. A male virgin, Russian Alex Stepanov, is also being followed by the documentary film crew. The highest bid for Stepanov's virginity so far is $1,300.

Migliorini signed up for the project two years ago after reading a story about an Australian filmmaker looking for a virgin: “I thought: I'm a virgin, I'll sign up. I did it impulsively, a young girl of 18. I thought I wouldn't receive a response.”

Some time later, she received an email from the film's producer asking her for a screen test. “When it worked, I was happy,” she said. “I was from a small town in Santa Catarina, and an Australian filmmaker chose me! I thought, I'll go with that and see where it leads.”
