Would we have to make a new psn account for the ps4

I beening thinking would we have to make a new psn account for the ps4 or keep using ps3 account on ps4 coz new console means upgraded network which mean new things.

I no its a stupid thing for me to say but you never no whats going to happen

I wanted to ask because im not getting the ps4 until the slimline comes out more HDD and i didnt want someone to steal my psn name coz a lot of people on the psn message me say they like my name.

I would go mental if sum 1 stole my name i would start world war 3 lol if u no what i mean

Yeah I don't think Sony would do that. I mean when you sign up for psn it asks you if you want to use an existing account.

i doubt it. like stated above, it will probably just link your PS4 info to your current PSN account if you decide to use it. I wasnt sure how they were going to utilize that with the PS3 and PSVita, but if Cross platform gaming between the next playstation and the Vita is as big as they expect it to be, then it wouldnt make any sense to mess around with that.

I doubt we'd have to make a new PSN account for the PS4 and if we did they'd probably give us a way to keep our username if we want or something.

I'm waiting to see how the trophies are going to carry over and what not.

I think the current psn account will link up with the ps4 just like how most sony devices are now.

There's a limited number of devices allowed so I'd imagine they'd raise the number of devices per account by at least 1 to accommodate the new flagship. And if you aren't at your limit anyways, then it's whetev.

That is if there is a limit, It's been a while since I added a new device

If they can link it to Vita then it's a no brainer for PS4. Even if they couldn't link it to Vita, I'd still expect them to do it.

I would like to transfer my account from PS3 to PS4, but I'd also like the ability to change my username be introduced on PS4 cause when I made my first ever PS3 account I had no idea I'd be stuck with the name I chose for good. I figured I'd be able to change it to something more appropriate.

i thought that was a per device per account thing... like i have 2 PS3's 2 PSP's and a Vita... if i got a PS4... then i already couldnt link it (the limit is 2 activations per account, or device... im not sure which is why im asking)
but im about 50% sure that i can have 2 of each device linked to my PSN (so 2 PSP, 2 PS3, 2 Vita, 2 PS4... ETC...)
