Duh, that just sucks... I would have loved for this to be true.
Sorry, guys.

To me, religion is not the problem. It's people. Doesn't really matter what belief system you adhere too, the second humans get involved they will muck it up.
On this basis I was chill with Islam for a very long time. But after speaking to many Muslims, reading some of the Quran, talking to Imams.. There is something deeper at fault here. It is persistent with the religion.
I still don't believe it is 'the religion itself' as a core that is the issue, but rather the traditions and beliefs that have cropped up around it over the centuries.
It is changing though, which is good. But this change is asymmetric and slow in coming in my opinion. To make matters worse, many of the more fundamentalist nations happen to be sitting on large quantities of oil. This sudden and immense influx of money and global attention has exacerbated the issue in my opinion.
Wahabi Saudi Arabia being a prime example. One of the premiere funders of terrorist activities abroad and trampler of human rights..
It's easy, you know. To blame a particular religion- or all religion. To simply say "Well this concept is clearly at fault and is evil". To me, this is the argument of cavemen. Unwilling to address the more complicated issues at the heart of the matter.
I'm not saying a particular ideology or belief cannot be 'bad' or 'worse' then others.. Merely that humans can and will turn anything (good or bad) and make it terrible by nature.

was about to leave for aus, i had my bags packed and everything
i kid i kid
The Queen did say something similar though.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19709599
adendum:"Like anybody, she was upset that her country and its subjects were being denigrated by this man," said our correspondent, who stressed that the monarch was not lobbying but "merely voicing the views that many have".
It is rare for the Queen to express opinions on such matters.
my repping of posts in this thread still stand however

"founded on Christian values" lol no it wasn't. We just sent all our criminals there. Plus I find it highly ironic that any descendants from the British can make claims that people should adapt to the culture when everywhere we went we forced people to adapt to ours.
Turns out its fake anyway so....

This is the most sense anyone has made in a long time. I am tiring of tip toeing around everybody because god knows you wouldn't want to offend anybody. Get thicker skin and suck it up is what I suggest. Everybody is too damn sensitive these days.
