Unless you have a Vita and have used it to remotely turn on your PS3 and browse your PC, you can take the rigmarole out of that post. Commenting on something you have clearly never tried before, "really?"

If you have PS3 media center set up well you are browsing your computer files in seconds.
If I want I can watch any episode of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead etc, or any of my anime, or any of my movies or countless series I have archived, effortlessly over wifi.
This is the voice of experience speaking.

Haha Ok. It seems that the usefulness of this feature has totally alluded you. You don't do this if you want to watch this stuff at home...Pretty sure I'd also like to watch my vids on my 46" Bravia over my 5" Vita screen. Try accessing your PCs archive at work on your break, or at Starbucks, or on a plane.

The PS3 media server does all decoding PC side and streams it to the PS3, meaning I can watch vob, mkv and many other unsupported files.
Leave PC on, turn PS3 on/off with Vita, watch anything from any wifi spot.PSU GHOST SYNDICATE - DUST 514 Media HUB - Podcast - BLOG (Soon™)

Just going to play devils advocate and say if thats what you want from either service, a NAS is much better than both. And Free.

But honestly, XBL IS the better service, but wouldn't you expect that from something you have to pay for?I Like Games.

We should just have a repository/stickies in the PS3 vs 360 section for articles like this that just rehash old "arguments" - including the following:
- PSN(+) vs XBOX Live
- Exclusives battle
- Price battle
- Graphics battle
- Multiplats battle
- Preference Battle
- Services Battle
- DVD vs BluRay
Because the same tired points have been made for literally, years now.

I think those tired old arguments have changed over time though, I really dont think many PSN user realise how connect XBL users are now, and its only goign to get more and more about accessing stuff from anything other than your console with the rise of tablets and smart phones.
Do I expect the next Xbox to allow you to simply play from your tablet? At some point I do yes. Wii U is well on its way to be pointless.

This.
I think Nintendo was on the right track but executed poorly.
Sony and MS are way more in a position of executing this than Nintendo (due to their hardware and software: Surface + Windows RT & Tablet S/P? etc + Android).
Though, I still think the arguments are more or less the same; just the details have changed.

Its a chicken and the egg situaiton though, wiohout pay to play, live woudl neve rhave become what it is today. An dI dont wnat auto updates to bcoem somethign I pay for, thats a serivce that does the Live network a great deal of good, without it, it would be a mess, and without it I can see why PSN is a mess.
MS made live the first unified online console service, frankly "should" is something they make the rules up about not other people.
If they wanted to charge, they can dam well charge.

Tip: I pay $12/year for Xbox live.
Here's how.
If your gold sub ends and you do not renew MS will send you an email shortly after hoping to get you to come back. This email will contain a link to a 1 month gold subscription for $1. Just bookmark this email and reuse it every month AFTER your 1 month expires. Just make sure that every time you renew for your $1 for 1 month sub you log into your account and uncheck automatic renewals else they will auto bill you for the regular pricing plan once the 1 month is over.Last edited by faaeng; 10-11-2012 at 07:28.
PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

it is anything but a simple fact and you are quite wrong in your assumption.
There has not been a console in the history of consoles that offers as much gaming as 360 does.
Be it retail, through Arcade and XBLIG to kinect. Multi-plats or exclusives. No console offers more to a gamer.
Of course, there will always be those exclusives like Mario, Halo and Uncharted where you have to own more than one console.
But please, never get confused as you appear to be over what console offers the most to a gamer.

I can't battle my buddies or family members or friends on PSN, cuz they all have Xbox. Free PSN won't help me there
. But I am glad PSN is free since I don't use it that much. It would be a waste of money (just like Xbox would be a waste if you didn't use it much) if they charged for it.
BTW, new PSN Store is coming out next weeks! Looks tits!
