Mass Effect external producer Ryan Warden has been answering a slew of questions about the recently announced Mass Effect Trilogy Compilation on Twitter. Among his comments are details concerning ME1 on the PlayStation 3, which will be making its debut on the console for the first time.
Read on below for notes on the game’s improved performance, the co-developer behind the project, and more.
- No plans to release Mass Effect 1 physically on PS3 as a standalone title
- Edge of Reality is working closely with BioWare on the title (Dragon Age: Origins console developer)
- “Performance feels really good overall”
- The team wants to retain the Mass Effect 1 experience while making some targeted fixes
- Game features improved texture popping and better performance on PS3
- Uses the Mass Effect 1 engine with Mass Effect 2 PS3 touch-ups
- These improvements are specific to the PS3 (360 won’t get the performance upgrades)
Mass Effect Trilogy Compilation is without a release date on the PS3 currently. The package is set for launch on the Xbox 360 and PC on November 6.

I hope the infinite paragon points glitch is going to stay. Some of us don't have time to play through the game 5 times just to get every achievement.
Also, speaking of glitches, I was fortunate enough to get the Soldier Ally Achievement. The two of my friends however, where not so fortunate.
I missed out on the Asari Ally achievement, because I did not know that you have to start working on these "Ally" achievements ASAP.Almost everyone will say: buy console that has games that you want, and those who say otherwise are ignorant.

wonder what they could possibly "touch-up" with the ME2 engine....Uses the Mass Effect 1 engine with Mass Effect 2 PS3 touch-ups
possibly the dynamic shadows. those were crap in Mass effect.
i feel though, it will still perform worse on the PS3. most, if not all, UE games do.

Whoa, I never knew the triology was coming to PS3. I haven't played ME3 yet either so I think I'll just pick this one up

May pick it up the trilogy in the future when its $30 since its being fixed, but it depends what DLC is included though its stupid each platform is getting different DLC included (Am honestly hoping for all ME1 DLC, ME2 arrival, and ME3 ashes DLC.)

I wonder...would it be too much to expect them to implement some of the gameplay features from ME2 into ME1? I'd love to have my Infiltrator have the tatical cloack in ME1

ME1 was a great game, but it's spoiled by later games. The whole mystery of the reapers was fantastic and the last level was mindblowing at the start of this gen.
