Pretty much. It would be the "best idea ever and Sony needs to catch up" if this was MS in this position..

I don't see a problem with this as long as they are making money. They could easily make you download an app to your ps3(no ps4 access)/ps4 so that you have to register a console in order to play 1st party titles on the pc. Turn on your system, run the app, then you can connect to the pc. That way people have to keep the console.

As for cell phones, ect., if they don't have a controller then certain games will just be impossible to play.

Once again all subjective. I feel the opposite way if I actually had to choose. Out of the big list of Sony 1st party games only a small handful actually appeal to me and none of their games are ones I couldn't live without if I was actually forced to choose. MS may have less exclusives but the ones they do have I like better and I can say that because unlike you I've played both consoles exclusives. Just saying.

Oh I've played 360 before, while I was still in NZ just after I got the PS3 and just before I came to Austria. Me and my neighbor would swap consoles one or two weekends a month for about 3 months. I played some Gears 2, Halo 3 and FIFA 09. Admittedly I haven't played the installments after. I was never an FPS fan until Move & Sharpshooter so Halo had little chance on merit of taste and Gears was Ok but the characters were a real turn off for me. Those games were 50% of MS's meat since then...

If he had had some other of the earlier exclusives, I may have had quite a different impression of MS's console, but I played what was recent back then and what was recent then is what's recent now, albeit a few installments along.

It reminds me of those people who always say the gaming press has an agenda against Sony and MS is paying them off or in the NPD threads they would say that the 360 is outselling the PS3 there simply because Americans are stupid. lol Both "camps" have their double standards and idiocy but each of the groups claim that its only the other one thats guilty. Its both amusing but sad at the same time.

Ok, thats cool. We both like what we like and theres no such thing as a wrong preference imo. And despite my preference I do still enjoy my PS3 and Vita alot and would never give them up. And tbh I dont even know who I'm rolling with next gen until I get all the details.

What i meant by "getting old" is that just because people voice concern on what's happening doesn't mean mean people are hoping for sony to somehow fail. That's an assumption you came up with because i don't see any post where anyone is dooming sony. There is obvious concern on where they stand with PS4.

Yeah tbh I didnt see anybody saying that in this thread either. As for me I just want to see an actual PS4 home console and not just some cloud based service. Thats my only concern in this. But Sony certainly isnt "doomed."

My gut feeling is there will be a PS4. But it wont be much more than a unified PC archetecure. Thats a good thing I think.

Much like a lot of mulitplat/Xbox games are.

At the end of the day, if they can increase their revenue in software beyond people with PS4's they would be stupid not to, but I also think they need the incentive for people to buy one.

I agree. Sony would need to find that sweet spot between extra software revenue and retaining the consumer's incentive to buy their console. Not sure what that would be though if Sony's first party games were all just timed exclusives.
