Can we find a way to not perma-ban members?

Because it doesn't stop trolling as a whole. There are always trolls out there and generally I've noticed that people get tired of trolling, eventually. Grow up, get old, you know.

That's not the point though. It's unfair for members to have to put up with that - regardless of it stopping trolling or not. It's really there so that people don't leave because of the fuckwit trolls that post.

I'd rather we had more poeple than less and still the same amount of trolling. It's as if the trolls take on the responsibility of their ancesterial trolls and tread on to fulfill their prophecy.

If it's a quantity vs. quality thing - I choose quality 100% of the time. So will most I'm sure.

What I did remember liking was the quality of posters and how they interacted. It turned to shit once the forum felt the need to invite/attract more 360-centric type of people (meaning to say, those who are clearly anti-Sony/PlayStation - not those who have both or aren't retarded stealth trolls) just so there's shit being stirred and thus more traffic.

Which is why it's best if we can see the section where these things are talked about. Maybe mods/admins can keep the ongoing discussions secret but if someone is being talked about, in order to make the final decision, we should at least be able to see that process.

It's always "we've talked about it and we think you should be perma banned". Seems like not enough explanation. The explanations are always generic and vague.

There's not much to explain though. Usually those members just constantly insult or troll and don't heed warnings. It's as simple as that.

And since Dave was already perma-banned and given a second chance, he needed even less of an explanation.

I understand that. I wouldn't honestly give it much attention but I think this way we may have less bans because it's less subjective and more objective that way. Like a court ruling.

Either way, I'd like it if we tried to retain members more often. This really has nothing to do with Dave...like I said, it's been so long, I don't even remember him or what he did. But in the past, I've seen many good members go from "both sides" so-to-speak.

How about experienced members find ways to not get themselves perma-banned? Dave blew his chance when he made it clear that he wouldn't change his old ways. Some people change, but not all unfortunately. A better question to ask is how we can find ways to get newly-registered members to continue posting.
