Mass Effect and Far Cry 3...

I urge EVERYONE to buy Far Cry 3! I got it for Christmas from my brother, and man THIS is what I want a game to be. I tell you - until now, I've just done a few story missions (just met her for the first time), but I've been doing side missions since then. These include: climbing and disabling radio towers, and of course taking over outposts from the pirates. It's so damn cool... and I tell you, this game is NOT a first person shooter! It is a first person shooter action ADVENTURE experience. Although I have to say the shooting is some of the best I have seen for LONG. Guns feel powerful and realistic. For example, when you shoot with a R700 sniper rifle (the bolt action rifle) and you know - look through the scope, aim, hold breath, shoot - he stops looking through the scope for a brief moment because of the recoil. And the sound when you've got a suppressor on your MP5 or R700 (only for SMGs and sniper rifles)... I'd say it's very realistic. All those little details like the "smoke" or this streak that shoots out of the tip of the suppressor (silencer) of your R700 when you shoot.

This game looks freaking amazing - and I play on PS3! I heard that the 360 version was the most inferior (no fanboy blah-blah, I just heard it and the problems are mostly strong pop-in and framerate issues; but I'm sure someone here can clarify this - thanks!), but that the console versions looked about the same, difference being only framerate and pop-in.

I can only imagine what it looks like on a PC on a 32 inch screen in a crazy resolution like 2400 x 1800 or something like this, with everything on ultra high, high res textures and 60 FPS. Must be extremely immersive. But still, on my PS3, this game looks incredibly beautiful. I tell you, these are some of the best graphics this generation on consoles. The scope of the game is amazing, yet it you just have to look around you and you can see the amazing detail - even on consoles. The feeling when you crouch through the jungle to hunt an animal or kill a pirate - it's amazing.


BUY this game. Seriously. There are a few games that I'd say you should buy no matter what. Far Cry 3 is one of them. It's in the same category for me as Batman Arkham, God Of War, Dead Space, Darksiders, Assassin's Creed... (oh by the way: buy Darksiders and Darksiders 2, amazing games and these games really do need the support, but it's not only because of supporting it - nobody buys a game because he/she wants to support a studio - but the games are amazing).


Lol I'm sorry guys, I always write a wall of text but games like Far Cry 3 are an experience and there is so much value for your money. I just HAVE to tell everyone how good it is. I just wrote about single-player only (and mostly about side-missions! lol if the game consisted of side-missions only, it would still be better than most generic shooters these days... *cough* COD *cough* - although I love me some COD online from time to time). The SP is HUGE and if it was SP-only, it would be well worth the full 60 dollar/Euro price. But then there is a full side-story featuring four unique characters in a 4-player coop campaign! And then there's competitive multiplayer and the map-editor, although I don't really care for the MP or the editor. But that's just me.

Skyrim still, playing through all the caves, carvens and forts

Since I do not buy any off the houses in the holds, I just use the first house in riverwood or the two bandits camp just outside and up the hill by riverwood
