Pretty sure the game is leaked... people are talking about it, posting vids and spoilers.

We would like to prevent that leaked info from hitting our boards.

Do NOT post any information regarding the single player campaign (stories, characters, videos, etc...) concerning Halo 4

I have the game early, also have the LE pre-ordered and paid in full but will most certainly not be speaking of anything other than how beautiful it looks and how well it sounds/handles.

Is this the first official blackout for a game? I can't recall (not saying it hasn't happened before - it may have) a game getting this preferential treatment on this site?

A blackout would imply that you can't talk about it at all. Cuguy just wants you to be careful about what you say so we don't get into trouble with Microsoft and their lawyers. I think this would be the first time though for PSU.

That'd be pretty absurd to think PSU would get into trouble if a person discussed the game details.... because they are a member here? It's a pretty poor request to do this. I don't remember seeing any of this going on over the past 4 years when every halo game since i've been here has been leaked and played three weeks before it was officially released. Same with Gears, Uncharted 2, 3, etc. List goes on.

Halo 3 ~ two month leak
Reach ~ three week leak
Halo 4 ~ four week leak

It's going to happen. Posting about the game isn't detrimental to PSU.com in any way. As far as spoilers, well, ahem, we have a spoiler bb code to use. I wouldn't have posted or uploaded a single thing about the game details that hasn't already been posted here but to see a request like that is reaching to say the least.

Goes a long way in showing the site and community do not support piracy. They also risk getting ads pulled by Microsoft and other companies that have products like this. This site relies on that revenue stream. Respect.

Having discussions about a game do NOT show support for piracy. So that in itself doesn't go a long way. The risk of losing ads, another fallacy. I don't see main sites that had a ton of Reach discussions, videos, etc., gone. We had discussions here about it. That was a huge leak as well. Hell, most of the discussion was NEGATIVE about Reach on these boards, yet... it was allowed. Hmm... if Microsoft browsed a PS3 forum (lol), and saw a leaked game being trashed by members, wouldn't that fit in your description of a negative thing? Yeah.

I do not have any position on this, if the game is not to be discussed I can live with that, and if the mods/admins decided it was cool to discuss with spoiler tags I'd be fine with that too.

Those who think it's some sort of favoritism, allow me to ask one thing though, if Beyond or TLoU was leaked early and people pirated the game (and let me inform you 3key is coming), would you want it spoiled?

Whether you want it spoiled or not dictates whether you read the info or not. Personal issues about content shouldn't be pushed upon the entire community.
