Do you think Max Payne 3 is a worthy successor to the first two games, considering Remedy and series creator Sam Lake were not involved in its development? I cannot comment on the gameplay since I've only played the first two games but, from what I've seen of the story, it's much darker and intense.

I never played the first two but max payne 3 to me was stil one very well made game.
It does, imo, have the best shooting mechanics i have ever seen in a 3rd person shooter and the way the story and the game plays out is very well done. Enjoyed it a lot.
Playing other games and having enemies who don't react to gunshots like the AI does in MP3 is annoying.

I say it is, I loved the previous ones and I loved 3. The essence is still there even though it's edgier and gritty. The gunplay is also the best in 3rd person shooters, they got everything right.

I highly reccommed Max 2 (not played Max 1) it is very, very good with similar shooting mechanics to Max 3, graphics wise its not as good (obviously) but still isn't shabby considering its almost 10 years old.
If you ahve a PC I say buy it you wil not regret it and it will run on pretty much any low end PC by todays standard.
Pentium 3
512 RAM
64MB graphics card
Also has some great music.

I honestly dont know how I feel about Max Payne 3. It's a worthy sequel, though.
A lot of chapters were fun and good, but a lot of parts in certain chapters just felt cheap.

I think it is a worthy successor I would say Max Payne 1 was the most grittiest. The atmosphere in that game was intense.
Max payne 3 is very tideous when it comes to gun fights, you find yourself dying and hitting the continue button constantly. However it is a very good game.
One thing I will comment about is the sound quality. It sounds like it has been encoded at 96kbps at MP3, but I have it on the Xbox 360, so it might be different on the PS3.

Ab-so-fucking-lutely. It's so cinematic, but the online suffers from being a ghost town. Don't waste your money on multiplayer DLC for it, but it's worth getting for the singe player. This time, they modeled Max Payne after the real voice actor from the first two games. And he's actually an actor too!

His voice is iconic as Michael Ironside AKA Sam Fisher.

Good game, but the really doesn`t add ANY new gameplay elements, which is dissappoiting and makes the game repetive after a while. At least the singleplayer feels like that. Shooting and cinematics are great, but I sorta hated the game in the end.

It looks like I am the odd one out, I found it boring. Not a bad game just didn't do it for me.
