The Entertainment Software Rating Board has rated Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for re-release on PlayStation 3.
Both games, initially launched for PS2, are likely coming to PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network as PS2 Classics. The first PS2 game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Grand Theft Auto III, was re-released as a PS2 Classic on July 31 this year.
Stay tuned for updates.
I'm sure Rockstar devs have their hands full with GTA V to do a proper HD collection for the GTA III era games. But this is good news nonetheless.

If the PC version of San Andreas is anything to go by, you'd probably only see an improved draw distance and road textures.

I remember playing the PC version of San Andreas then a few weeks later palying it on my friends PS2 and litterally laughed my arse off, it looked so bare and bland PC version also has much better weather effects.
