Something needs to change. I know that Cuguy is busy with Real Life stuff, and there is nothing wrong with that. But if thats the case, it is stupid to only have one head of the forums. If Cuguy is swept away from the forums regarding real life, then nothing can get done here.
Just saying, something has to happen.

You'll get replies of "this is a pro bono" type of situation, or "we've told the owners to do X...". Otherwise, just continue using the forums in respect to how they still appeal to you, or find somewhere else unfortunately. There won't be any changes regarding how it would benefit the community, and there won't be any progression in respect to staff, features, etc. Hate to be so blunt about it, but hey.. what's here is here. I have a six page letter to Mr. B, that explains in extreme detail about a lot of things that need to be changed, how they can be changed, reasons why, examples of problems from linked posts, threads, staff abilities, info that you wouldn't normally have, etc. I'm trying to find a reason to submit it, but I honestly don't think they care too much about how the forums are operated. If they did, they'd check on it more than "once in a blue moon", and make decisions based on what they see on their own.
Alas, it is what it is.

This thread looks to be directed towards Cuguy more than the rest of the staff. Not sure why you quoted me from a thread requesting certain things from the entire staff.
I also used the "pro bono" reference because one of the members were talking about the staff like dog shit. Expecting us to jump when asked.Last edited by Lethal_NFS; 11-03-2012 at 22:21.

This is why F34R needs to be on the staff, whatever the capacity. I don't see many people with as much passion as him for this place (I'm not saying people don't have this kind of passion, but I don't SEE it). Passion for positive change needs to be harvested and utilized like a precious resource because it's rare.

Passion alone does not make a good staff member. Other qualities need to be present in order to correctly utilize that passion.
However, I'm just talking in general terms, as F34R was kicked off the staff before I was put on, so I don't know the details regarding him.

Do you think we should form a coup d'état?

I agree with F34R. I view the forum as "Abandonware"* to use a software analogy. Which means I don't have any hope of it being around for long or keep any value for long. Which in turns means I'm not willing to invest a ton of time in it.
I've reduced my forum activity by several hours per week, granted some were necessary due to personal issues as well, but most are voluntary. So like F34R said, I use it how it appeals to me. For me that's basically a one thread investment while most of my energy posting stuff goes elsewhere (Twitter).Other opinions are available.

The issue isn't that we have an inactive community manager. Cuguy still logs into the forums and posts every now and then.
Mr. Bishop, on the other hand, I don't know where he is.Last edited by Blacksite; 11-04-2012 at 00:33.

Okay, let's just ignore the actual site owner's inactivity...

Agree with what? I was being sarcastic.
What good would it do to promote someone else to take Cuguy's place when the person he's supposed to keep in contact with hasn't logged into the site for several weeks now? And what makes you think anyone will just be handed the position of community manager without working their way up the ranks first?
And you're kidding with Rad - not that he's a bad guy or anything - but he's mentioned countless times that he's posting from his PS3 browser and can't really get anything to work so what would he be able to do?
F34R, correct me if I'm wrong, never actually reached admin status so the same would apply to him.
It's nothing personal but a coup d'état is ridiculous. Even if Cuguy suddenly dropped off the face of the planet, there are others, like Ixion, who could take his place as community manager. And even then, you would still need Mr. Bishop around to relay these ideas back and forth with.Last edited by Blacksite; 11-04-2012 at 01:53.

I know F34R was a moderator before and he's very vocal about issues on the site but the decision to promote him comes down to Mr. Bishop, if not Cuguy himself. And if those two aren't around then we have other admins who could make that decision, including the PSU writers i.e. adamdolge.
I was only making a point. Did not mean to offend you.Last edited by Blacksite; 11-04-2012 at 01:39.

Concerning Cuguy absence. His personal problems last for 4 months already. I dont think that personal problems cant get solved in a such big time period.
