Why do I want to own guns? Because I like them, for self defense, for hunting\sport, because they retain value. Firearms are always a sound investment.

The statement "Nobody should own guns but the police\military\government" is horrifying, because you're setting yourself up for complete abuse. US was founded on the idea that the people rule the nation, not its government. Government should serve us, and an armed population makes for a very respectful government.

Proportionately, it's scary how close Britain is (or how it eclipses the US in quite a few) in regards to crime. We have a far larger population and more urban areas and you guys are literally right there lol.

311 million people (US) vs 62 million (UK) and the majority of our population is centered on the coasts. So we have a ton of highly populated, dense, urban areas filled with a ton more people and you guys are as bad or worse then we are even in spite of this massive gap.

And how about this chunk of data stating that even though the US has more guns per person IN THE WORLD (88/100) we're nowhere close to the top of gun crime\murders internationally?
