Tour De France champion and Olympic gold medalist Bradley Wiggins was knocked off his bike last night.
He shaved his trademark sideburns off is it the source of his power?
Also in a seperate incident this morning the head coach for Team GB was knocked off his bike in Manchester.

British roads are pretty dangerous for cyclists not many cycle lanes and when there is some they are useless.

Saw this on Sky news this morning, his coach got into an accident a few hours later too.
"When I was 12, I milked my eel into a pot of turtle stew. I flogged the one-eyed snake, I skinned my sausage. I made the bald man cry into the turtle stew, which I believe my sister ate. At least I hope she did."

Who is this guy and why is this news. Not beimg funny or anything, but the world has a lot more problems than a guy falling of a bike or beimg struck by a car..... people fall off bikes or get hit by cars alll the time and they do not make the news.
What makes him so special

If its reported by Russia this guy is on it first.
I often think the same about your "news" posts yet I and many others just do not bother posting in them, you should try it some time.
MAybe if a high profile professional rider gets knocked off it may spur things into motion for all riders, ie proper bike lanes that are worth while, Wiggins was riding with a support crew and the proper gear, helmet, visibility clothing lights and so on yet he still got knocked off his bike because some arse Couldn't see him (but most likely wasn't paying attention.)
This is what he accomplished (with team mates) in 2004.
Sorry but the Olympic nobs make you visit youtube to watch it.

Then those drivers need to watch where there going, if someone on a bike hits a car more often then not the cyclist will get injured. I dont think someone on a bike will wake up one morning and hit a car on purpose.
Plus requiring bikes to have insurance is such a silly idea, some people have bikes cause they cant afford car insurance in the first place.

I heard what the witness said about the driver, she said the driver looked both ways yet still didn't see the guy. Makes you wonder...

Ok the rt.com news posts I make, yes I admit I post a lot of it
And its not even worth it sometimes... but its stuff that people have to, want or should know... but a guy falling of a bike and cracking a rid is not news.
If it was brad Pitt, Obam. I would not post it.
If it was Michael Jackson and i am a massive and i mean massive Michael Jackson fan, I would not post it since it's not newe worthy info anyone wants to hear. So he fell of a bike and done damage... the universe is not going to blow up, if we do not hear about it...
Look I respect the fact this is news for you and others on the forum, because you watch whatever thing this guy or bunch of guys did. Just posting my side. How he is no one special. Any local person falling of a bike and getting struck by a car, does not make news
So why should he be above them
This is a problem, because people neglect the real world. This scum/celebrities are a vacuum of acknowledge and they suck any energy away from actually worrying about what is going on in the world.
Now the guy you speak of is not scum, it's just this celeb world we sorry everyone else lives in. That piss's me of by no end...Last edited by claud3; 11-10-2012 at 09:20.

Bike insurance actually makes a lot of sense. Got a friend at the moment suing a woman who crashes into him when stationery and then tried to claim for injuries.
It's horribly backfired though as its been proven her claim was false and now he's going to nail her.
Bikes want to be treated equal, take some responsibility and have insurance then. My wing mirror probably costs more to replace than a lot of bikes.
See how you feel keefy when a cyclist scrapes down your car with their handlebars and then you're left with the bill for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Bike insurance would really help the woman my friend is suing right now because she's being faced with hefty legal bills and whatever she has to pay him. It's optional for cyclists and I hope more and more see the light and get it as more of these incidents happen. They're not always as innocent as they make out.

I wish cyclists would stay on the fucking sidewalk, I especially can't stand those Tour De France wannabe fuckers that even though there is a cycle lane, they feel the need to use the car lane. The god damn lanes in this country are small enough as it is, don't need to be slowed down or bottle necked by some douchebag cyclist.

I hate riding on the pavement whenever I go on a cycle. I ride around 23mph average according to my little speedo I have (I've reached 31mph on flat before, that's the fastest I've ever gone without going downhill) and it just feels safer being on the road where people actually look out for you to an extent opposed to having to weave in and out of people and watching out for dogs and children.
