The Last of Us - VGA 2012 trailer (May 7, 2013 release)

I love end gen magic. MGS3, ZoE 2, Okami and GoW 2 were amazing games that shone like 1000 suns at the end of last gen. This is one of those end of gen magic games, as I said elsewhere, generation 7.5. A long with GoW:A and Beyond, we are in for a special kind of magic next year. I reckon this will become PS3's highest scoring game, dethroning GTA4.

Saw the trailer last night. Fucking amazing.

The biggest thing I took away from the trailer wasn't just how amazing it looked (come on, it's ND afterall ) but the different locations and horse riding and the attention to detail. The gif posted in the thread where the guys legs blow off and the woman has one of her legs blown off is amazing - if you observe every little bit of detail in that scene. Incredible

Also, with Sony releasing their 2 biggest games of next year before E3, does that mean PS4 next fall?

The first thing that stuck out about that trailer is Spike TV and VGA actually had some class!?!? Yes, totally blown away. It seems to be Sony's way to head into the last days of one generation showing a hint of what is coming next generation. It's always turned into a mind twister for some, trying to figure out how next gen can be demonstrated on this gen, for the PS1 to the PS2 to the PS3. What are ND going to do when they don't have to deal with limited RAM and restricted resources? Can't wait to get Last of Us and it looks so good, May doesn't seem that far off.

Yes, good point. That team has been working on their next gen project for at least one year now. Same for all the rest of Sony studios and they have been keeping their lips sealed all that time. It seems like more indicators for a 2014 launch of the PS4, but more and more likely Sony will make some kind of PS4 reveal at E3 2013. With the status this far along, these first party devs must be working with some kind of pre-alpha hardware. This is one difference between the PS3 and PS4, the moles and leaks with the PS3 were overflowing, but the PS4 has been devoid of almost any actual verifiable information.

(Meanwhile, Sony just shut down their last Cassette Walkman line, WTF? And yet, they will continue with their CD/cassette boombox line, WTF^2? Kaz still has major cleanup to do. He didn't know he was being promoted to janitor.)

That trailer was amazing. Except for the horses. Why the horses? It was cheesy and non-sensical in Uncharted 3 and it looks even worse here.

But other than that, it looks awesome.

Pretty much. We did see Joel and Ellie drive a pickup truck but that didn't last long.

Yeah and the vehicle itself was very worn. God, this game is gonna be so good! I didn't like the end of the trailer though, was kind of spoilerish ;/. I wish I stayed on my media blackout for it, but I'm weak..clearly
