Dust 514 official release?!

Does anyone know when the official release date is for Dust 514? If no official date announced yet, do they have a projected date scheduled?

So far all we know is that open beta hits around January 2013. DUST 514 isn't just a console shooter, there is a SHIT load of technology involved and the huge mission of integrating a console game into a PC game in real time is no easy feat so they need more time than your typical shooter.

Yeah open beta the end of January, I'm guessing the release will 4-6 months later (i.e. to give beta time to wrap, get opinions/feedback, make changes, go gold, yada yada).

Man what an evolution in online play!!! This is a huge step for online games! Probably gonna take a sh** ton of work and programming! I can honestly say I can't wait though and I feel like they'd make their money back when it is released!

the non-beta release of the game will be around march-april of 2013 last ccp said
the open beta will not be half as long as the closed beta because the entire purpose of open beta is litterally to stress-test their servers.

i highly recommend getting into the closed beta as quickly as possible because they are doing a huge number of events currently that are giving some ridiculously sweet prizes to the beta testers. these items from what i have seen have for the most part given little to no advantage to you newer players. the main advantage that will occur on official release will be that the testers will have more knowledge of the maps in high sec than you guys will.
