Agreed. Packets are a form of a PDU (data, and its stages of travel across a data stream). Loosing 100% would mean you don't have a connection.....

300+ miles away. Better ping than the servers close to me.
I would say I am hitting less switches and routers on my route to washington, DC, than I am going to places closer to me. There must be more switches and routers in place, slowing down my ping as it travels through the network.
