General Question to the Community - New Forum Feature?

Would anyone be interested in a forum based RPG?

Ixion and I have been looking up some things and this was one that has come up in the past.

Below are some features of the RPG from the site:

Advanced Battle System: A battle system more advanced than any ever before seen on a forum RPG. Incorporating tactical elements such as movement distance and Action Points, as well as a vast array of different attacks, including ideal ranges, ineffective ranges and different Action Point costs, as well as Focus/Stamina costs and boosts from other stats.

Monster Breeding: A breeding system which allows players to choose their own monsters, from feet up to head, including a choice of any hex colour for each part! Basic breeding allows players to safely create above average monsters, or use special breeding to create potentially incredible specimens, but resulting in the death of both parents!

Unlimited Possibilities: A monster combination system so in depth that with the addon pack installed it gives over HALF A GOOGOL of potential combinations & colours.

Super Fine Control: Fine tune the EXP players get with our variety of user-friendly options which do not sacrifice depth. Create many areas for players to do battle in, and create the exact monsters you wish them to face.

Boss Battles: Set blockades for players progress by refusing to allow them into an area until a boss has been defeated. Create your own boss in the ACP using the detailed monster creation system, and set your players tests only the best will pass.

Gotta Catch em All: Players are able to capture monsters and use them in battle, or use them to breed super powerful combination monsters!

Items: Provide your monsters with a boost to their stats with usable items that can be dropped from enemy monsters.

Regular Updates: New features such as NPCs, Shops, Quests, Items and more will be added on a regular basis.

It would need a lot of setup, and some RPG admins. Those admins can be anyone, anyone interested in managing the game.

What do you guys think? Would this be something you can see pulling in people, or giving all of our current members a nice distraction?

I haven't received a go ahead for this, so consider this post a fishing for interest post...

Is this like an additional and optional game or everybody is going to be obligated to play it?

It would be cool if it were somehow integrated into the normal layout/posts. Like to show member levels, exp, monsters as icons? (if they choose)

Not majorly, just as in like a general progress bar or game lvl under post count, or even just your level/progress/whatever it is, some kind of indicator as an icon/item under our info like my dark souls, ps logo etc (that can be turned off of course) Just tossin ides around

It is a game, optional... why on Earth would we REQUIRE a game to be played LOL

we won't know the exact customization until we have it in place, but i would assume there is an option to display certain things in the post bit.

We could also investigate getting a post bit tab mod that will allow members to pick and choose what displays and what is hidden under tabs in the post bit

I'll be honest I wouldn't ever use it and have no interest. It's fine if others want it but count me out playing it.

yeah, we know not all will care... we just want to make it an option for those who will. if we get enough interest it will help us pitch it to get implemented
