I agree with mynd.

If, in the long run, we see Sony and Microsoft offer similar tablet controller peripherals for the PS4 and next-gen Xbox then the only thing truly separating Nintendo from the competition would be their exclusives. And you know people will look at which console offers the better-running, better-looking version when it comes to third-party support.

Well you could be right there, people are hanging out for their next gen fix. This is not the console people are looking for in that regards.

I'm just unsure that this is going to capture that Wii market either. Most of those that bought the Wii probably don't even understand that it was not "HD". So I cant see them caring about upgrading.

lol what? Why on earth would people not understand that the Wii was not HD? People know what HD component cables look like just by their cable boxes. Not to mention how blurry the Wii looks on HD tv's. I think that is a far fetched assumption lol. Unless you think the only people that bought a Wii were children or very old people.

No, I'm just assuming they don't care. They clearly didn't care when it wasn't HD, so why would they care if the new model is?

Judging by how fast the Wii U is selling, I think people do know and care. But only time will really tell.

You give people way too much credit. My parents, for instance, have a very tedious grasp on what "HD" is. For example, when they got their flat panel HD tv they thought that magically all movies\tv viewed on it were now "hi def". They also did not understand the difference between DVD's, HDDVD and BluRay until recently (I explained it to them).

Ok, but my parents know exactly what HD is and the difference between DVD, Blu-Ray, etc. They know the difference between the quality and such. High definition, Blu-Ray, these are not new things and have been around for over 7 years.

I've been able to spot Wii U's at stores and it was on black friday (not when the stores opened) but later that day.

You can find it in my area, if you really wanted one.

And computers have been around for some 30, and there are lots of people out there who know shit about those too lol. Most use it as a magical black box that has access to this "internet" so they can do Facebook, farmville, and youtube.

People know there is a power button to turn it on. They know the mouse works the arrow on the screen. They also know they can check their emails and visit web pages.

That is all they need to know about computers. My mom knows nothing about computers and even she knows how to use one.. Hell, she even uses Skype to talk to her grand children.

Not to mention that schools today teach everyone how to use a computer, and computers were used for teaching back in the 90s when I was in school.

You think I am talking to a single person? My comments are directed towards everyone. I also mentioned that one game runs better on the Wii U than the PS3.

AC3 runs and looks better on the Wii U.

Black Ops 2 looks better on the Wii U.

On AC3 it looks better than the PS3, same as 360, doesn't run better than either. Same with Black Ops2. Frame rate issues for both games on the Wii U.

AC3 runs so much better on the Wii U. PS3 version is filled with lag.

Honestly I would not qualify this as "knowing about computers". Two entirely different standards.
