Yeah, I was pretty pissed. lol I mean, I have a game that I can't take back, nor can I play it. Now, the ID I created might not even be usable on another console. wtf. If it doesn't work on a new console, I'll take it back, sell the game, and be done with Nintendo in that regard.

Surely I hope so. It was said that they are console specific.

I dunno man. I know tons of people buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games. But from Nintendo's point of view they want as many 3rd parties on it as possible and this kind of outcry is quite worrying. They will hit the sweet price point for the masses quickly, sure, and shift tons of units with the WiiU. But securing 3rd party would have been one of their top priorities during development of the console
The biggest 3rd party games of next year are all unconfirmed for WiiU. But then again, anything can happen. I'll definitely get one, as you know, for the Nintendo games
. After a price drop though.

Wow, man. Looks like nintendo will be fucked once devs stop making ps3/360 titles. I just can't see them scaling their game back just to put it on the wiiu. Especially if the ps4/720 is way more powerful.
No thank you. I'll be gaming on a stronger console for $100 cheaper instead
Sony trolled MS. PS4 fans didn't do it. We just laughed at MS and anyone getting mad. $399 FTW!

As much as I love games, I could never spend the same amount of time in a place where I hate/look down on, and continue to post and participate.

Any dev that ports a ps4/720 title to the WiiU and not put it on the ps3/360(140million consoles) would be a fool. They're putting themselves back in the position that the Wii was in as far as 3rd party support. It's going to be interesting to see if they have a title that breaks out like Wii Fit did.
I didn't know it was having hardware failure issues that bad. It's like they are running into another wall after how the 3ds launched. No thank you. I'll be gaming on a stronger console for $100 cheaper instead

Last E3 I was so excited to see Wii U, but after I saw Ninty's presser, I could already foresee how it was going to go down. Nintendo has dropped the ball on so many fronts with their new console, it's not even funny. Weak online suite, lack of cross the board trophies, locked IDs, poor 3rd party port performance and a lack of exciting 1st party content...No wonder Sony and MS aren't worried
.
F34R, did you turn yours off during the update? People are finding their Wii U bricks when they turn off during the lengthy update...

I dunno...I think gen 7 has some legs still. If I was a publisher, I would keep a keen eye on 140 million gen 7 install base. Perhaps Nintendo had better pray to the gaming gods that PS360 stick around for awhile...

Too much to ask for a decent HD Nintendo console it seems. Hardware specs aside, a few very simple changes could have made it all a lot better.
I'm holding off my pre order now for 6 months.
I know it's all doom and gloom like with the 3DS but that was always going to do well. Just got a lot of stick from people who thought Vita would destroy it. We all know that's never going to happen, ever.
As above. Weren't Ps2 Games being made for a few year after 3 launched.

Really going to come down to install base on the wii, and ease or porting (which 4a is showing they cant be bothered). There may well be legs in gen 7 (that why Im giving it another 2 years after this one) but its not going to mean they will automatically be ported to the wii u.

Currently estimates on B3D (due to die size and known specifications + other IBM CPU's) places the WiiU processor at less than half to even a third as powerful as the 360 Xenon CPU.

Does WiiU have cross-game chat, the way 360 and Vita do it ?

The original wii is horrible graphically. I dont know the specs but it looks less then my old ps2.
It was all about the controller for lots of people. A new way to play games.
Looks like they r trying the same approach this gen.
