Even so, that's head and shoulders above the Xenos GPU.

Well of course.
@ Lethal
I dunno if I'd call them assumptions man. The WiiU has serious bandwidth and CPU problems. The only thing we don't know are the specifics concerning the Edram- but strong rumor holds it pegged at 32MB (like the 360). If this is true, it's probably going to have less memory bandwidth than the 360 unit as a whole.
We know that the GPU is more advanced than xenos (and therefore the best out of the PS3\360), but its still a horrible part in the grand scheme of things.
We know it has 2GB of RAM, but half of that is reserved for OS\security (which is INSANE).
We know it's CPU is significantly slower than even the Xenon processor in the 360. That's very, very bad. We know this due to developer dialogue, because it's an IBM part (and there exists some documentation on it), and its die size. It's not too hard to figure out its limitations in a broad sense.
The WiiU is a piece of crap.Last edited by Vulgotha; 11-23-2012 at 18:38.

The key difference is, the PS3 and 360 came out like 6 years ago.
Lol.

What I am doing is trying to understand why you can call the Wii U crap, and not come and call the PS3 or 360 crap. There is nothing crappy about the Wii U. It plays the newer games being released with all the latest graphics of the current generation. The Wii U has a pretty amazing gamepad as well. Not seeing where "crap" comes in to it.
Nintendo made it very clear that they are no longer competing with Sony and Microsoft. Wii owners complained about the graphics being so much behind the PS3 and 360. Nintendo releases a new Wii that can handle more than the current gen consoles, and it is crap?Last edited by Lethal_NFS; 11-23-2012 at 20:04.

Tbf there has been consoles that released a year or 2 later then a pre-released machine and has been more powerful and cheaper, in this situation we are looking at a machine that is released 6 years later and there is question as to if it is even on par
Vol is being verbally harsh, but I see his point

Sorry but the evidence isn't exactly mounting that this is the case. A slow cpu is going to affect certain aspects, but not others. Drawing on the Gpu side clearly isnt going to be one of them, so framerate shouldn't suffer unless it hits a bandwidth limitation, or the cpu is being taxed. So your not always going to see anythjng wrong.

I agree with that, and that just goes on to it further... when the dev of the game says it's 99% the same, except missing aspects, then it doesn't promote the system being more powerful. Nor does it support that the game is better because of the more powerful hardware.

And its generally because they dont exploit the spu very well, and a slightly slower gpu. But the main thing is the weaker CPU performance without enrolling the help of the SPU's.
In terms of performance compared to thenother 2 consoles, the only way to really compare them, due to the age difference is this.
If the 360 and ps3 were release today, would they still have the same parts they got in 2005/6? Of course they wouldnt.

I heard it was not true 1080p but only upscaled that is! And also the difference is not that noticeable at all and even if it was it would be for the PS3 from what i saw IMO.
Technically, it's more of the same of the a very old Tech from 6 years ago that isn't gonna last very long if it's going to compete against the Next Gen.Case: HAF-X Motherboard: Asus CHV CPU: FX8320@4.4GHz GPU: Asus DCUII 7950 RAM:Mushkin redline @ 2133MHz HDD: Crucial M4 256

Saying the Wii U can do 1080p like it's a big achievement isn't really saying much there are 1080p phones releasing next year. The simple fact is, the Wii U should be able to handle these games with zero issues. The ports should be better than the PS3/360 versions. That's what everyone expected at the minimum and Nintendo couldn't even do that. Along with the whole accounts fiasco this console is a fucking disaster so far.

I don't know why you're overlooking the issue here. Of course the answer to that is a resounding "yes" in this case. In the hardware department I don't see how you couldn't constitute the Wii-U as anything past the adjective of terrible. In at least the CPU, it's weaker than 7 year old hardware. That's pathetic.
Stating that the Wii-U can do what current rival hardware can do isn't at all impressive or a compliment. It just shows Nintendo is happy to do the same song and dance as last-generation and walk away to the bank laughing. To be honest it's actually a little disgusting.-No Feeble Cheering-

Yup, in terms of consumer "bang for your buck" it is terrible.
This is, from what I can see, a last gen system emulated as close as they could with todays tech.
