update black... keep white for modifying... (i always attributed alternate color consoles to be modded iono why lol)

So excited! I downloaded and installed fw 2.0. Now I'm backing my vita up so I'll be prepared when my 32gb memory card arrives tomorrow. I'll restore my back up and start downloading all the ps+ games when I get home from work. Then while waiting for the downloads, I'll make a trip out to gs to trade uncharted and my 8gb card towards lbp! I'm going to have a vita filled holiday weekend

also can use buttons in photos app... zoom, scroll, forward, backward with dpad and joysticks!!!! (dont know why this excites me but this is AWESOME, i hated using touchscreen to scroll through all my pictures.

also, tumblr works now with the new browser... and the browser actually rocks, it was pretty fast while playing ragnarock odyssey.

wow the text is kinda crappy logging on here from vita. Well at least you can use the buttons to type now instead of just touching it.
The browser is a bit smoother now too. Other than text I like it!

uh i think my vita just bricked?! after i downloaded the firmware update, it shut off and when i turn it on i get a blank screen? i've did a hard reset (power bottom, ps botton and right trigger) to bring up the 5 option debug menu and non will work! God i hate this thing

After it shuts down it is supposed to boot itself back up after a few seconds. Did you immediately try to turn it back on?

So there's a few things not stated in the official update notes. All this info from GAF:

Official update notes:

Support for PlayStation Plus has been added.

[Email] has been added to the home screen.

You can now transfer content between the PS Vita system and a PC using Wi-FI.

You can now transfer a folder from a PS3 system or a PC to the PS Vita system.

[Maps] can now display weather information.

The display performance in [Browser] has been significantly improved.

The buttons on the PS Vita system can now be used with more applications.

In [Settings], you can now set how you will be alerted depending on the notification type.

Turkish has been added as a system language.

In addition, the usability of many features has been improved.

You can squash and stretch the PSone screen to your liking now. So custom aspect ratios.

PlayStation Mobile 1.00 Runtime Package now available

near ui has been changed, much better

Friends app's LiveArea now shows your friends' activities. That was a nice addition.

I think screenshot function is instant now. No more 'please wait' window after you screenshot

You can now send messages with friend requests!

Few changes I've noticed that I don't think have been mentioned

Video
- Playback menu is much bigger, and centered
- You can now go in super slow mo. (1 frame a second?)

Miscellaneous
- You can now download updates to games without needing to insert the game card first.
- PSM version installed listed under settings
- Under trophies, the buttons for PSVita System/Playstation Network look different. (Smaller?) They also don't make a noise when you press them.

And it's kind of unrelated, but there's an update to the Skype app.

actually a pretty good update. The screenshots, as listed above, are instant now; which is a huge plus. I'm checking now to see if they are still ugly compressed though. Pretty good update though. Props to Sony for it.

Nice update all round really, when i first heard about the update i weren't to impressed for a big update like 2.0 but after reading more and having a play after updating i must say im happy some great features and tweaks. Nice one Sony

Nat i let it sit for about 25min and nothing happened....already tried all the reset (hard/soft) and now Sony is telling me i have to pay 30 bucks for them to fix it? Fuck that i got the damn thing in February! How is it out of warranty already? Trading it in unless the battery dies out and it reboots on its own. Either that or they release the 2.00 online and ill try to download via pc...

Yeah try the battery thing mine done same about 2 days after having it during firmware update worked for me. sucks about Sony saying it will cost to be repaired.
