Damn, shocked to hear you went through so many PS3's, more inclined to associate that with 360's as I'm on my 4th or 5th 360 at the mo. Have had my PS3 fat for 3 years now with no problems [knock on wood], I say buy another one.

If you decide to get another one, make sure to keep it off the floor and raise it up with some sort of small 'feet' to give the bottom more breathing room (I used some erasers I had lying around). It seems to me that heat is a game console's worst enemy, so don't enclose it in a small space or crowd it amongst other objects.
As for getting another one, I'd be hesitant if I truly believed the first 4 had died due to no fault of my own, but I'd also find that very hard to believe.
Shut up and play games

Yes, and back then electronics were much more simplistic and offered far less functionality. It works both ways, you know?
I much rather take a device that I can use for a wide variety of functions and replace that every few years, than a bullet-proof but one-dimensional appliance that only offers me very restricted functionalities.
Plus, I still am on a 60GB fat PS3 so I really can't believe that some people burn through them so easily. It definitely also has to do with their lack of care.Last edited by Wrath; 11-21-2012 at 15:28.

Yeah I'm with Wrath on this one. its not that companies don't make products of good quality like before, it's just the added complexity of the devices of today that increase failure chances exponentially. The more bells and whistles a device has, the more areas for probable failure there are.
