You bought the equivalent to the Xbox Arcade unit. In surprised you don't want the space. You can run games off the SD card right? Or are you going to spend even more and hook up an external HDD?

Yeah you can. No hard drive for me. Like I said, I buy all my games retail. I usually only buy a handful of DL-only games, so it works out for me.

I know with the original Wii you couldn't run games off the SD card. You have to move them to the on console storage.

With 32GB being the largest size, people concerned about hard drive space will likely be replacing it. And if you arent into Nintendo land, the white version is perfect.

Im the type of person i use hand sanitizer i dont have a "finger print" problem with my black wii U unless other people touch it LMAO but i clean my entertainment center every week

Exactly. You're gonna know if you need an external hard drive before you even think about which to purchase. It basically comes down to paying the extra $50 for Nintendoland, the DL redemption thing, and some extra accessories. I'm sure I'm going to have fun with Nintendoland when I eventually get it, but I'm in no rush. It's just me and my wife, so I know that while, we can definitely enjoy it, a lot of the fun of those types of games is having a 4-5 players.

This thing is going to be out for (presumably) years. How can you make an assertion that you don't need the space?

For example the PS3 can download Ultraviolet copies of movies via the VUDU app so you don't have to stream them. I've done that with a bunch of stuff that I haven't gotten around to watching. When I watch it, I'll delete it.

Another example, if you register your Nintendo products through "Club Nintendo" then you should know that they've been giving out games as rewards for almost a year now. I've got 7 games downloaded onto my Wii and I haven't paid for (or gotten around to playing) any of them. This is the one they're giving out for now. I think they'll change it in a couple of days. Example three, how do we know that they won't patch in an install game feature like the 360 did? Or maybe just allow devs to put part of a game onto the console to speed up loading like the PS3 does?

My point is, you can't predict what's going to happen in the next half decade but 8GB is not very much space.
