What is a good free text app that works on both apple and android. For some reason pinger does not work on my Samsung galaxy player 3.6.

Do you mean like text messaging? I use 'WhatsApp' works fine for me and my friends who have a mix of iPhones, Androids and Blackberry's. You can text 1 on 1 or have group chats with upto 30 people. It costs £0.69 on iPhone but i think it's free on Android.
I'd go as far to say I use Whatsapp more than i use the actual text messaging on iPhone
Edit: I should add i don't think it works on devices that don't have a sim card/radio antenna as i can't use the App on my iPad nor can my friends download it on their Nexus 7'sLast edited by BoyBettaKnow; 11-27-2012 at 12:48.

I'll give a try. Might get lucky. But if it requires a sim card, then probably not.
