Bloomberg: Next Xbox out holiday 2013
Microsoft still deciding reveal time, says source.

Microsoft will launch the next Xbox during the holiday season next year, according to aBloomberg source.

The company is still deciding whether it will unveil the console at an industry event such as E3 or Gamescom, or at a separate event arranged solely for the console, said the source.

The whispers line up with previous rumors, which claim the console will be out by the end of 2013.

Microsoft has not made any announcements about the next Xbox.

If true then that confirms PS4 is 2014 as one of the devs said only one Nextgen console will release next year, shame I wanted them to head 2 head

From the lack of exclusives announced for next year, I also think it was obvious Microsoft was going to ship first. Sony has too many games coming out next year to spoil it by releasing the PS4.

Yep.

The Last of Us, God of War: Ascension, Beyond: Two Souls, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time come to mind. Also, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and The Last Guardian, if they haven't already shifted development to next-gen.

Eh at this point VsXIII is probably a multiplatform game. Its been in development for a while now and is probably massivly overbudget and square isn't in a postion where this can bomb.

Wonder how far into 2014 sony will wait for.

I'm curious as to the launch title. One would think a halo and gears but halo just droped and gears who knows.

Halo 4 Spartan Ops campaign episodes you can only play on the next Xbox.

Well microsoft has a good number of studios.

343i is working on Halo 5 and Halo 4 spartan ops stuff.

Black Tusk Studios are working on supposedly an unreal engine 4 horror fps. Probably will be a launch game.

Rare is working on at least 3 games. One of them is probably Kinect Sports 3, another is a next gen action/adventure games, and they have been hiring for windows 8/windows phone 8 development.

Lionhead is hiring for an mmo like game. Its probably going to become fable IV (the journey hints at it) but like Molyneux gone I can see them making a new IP as well.

Press Play just has been working on phone games but they could easily be working on something for Xbla seeing as their first game was for wiiware.

Twisted pixel has two teams currently. One of them are working on Lococycle and the other one's project hasn't been announced.

Microsoft London studio is working on windows 8 games.

Soho Productions works on the seasme street TV stuff.

Turn 10 Studios is probably working on Forza 5. Could be a launch game.

BigPark Studios is possibly working on something kinect related.

Microsoft Studios Victoria will probably be working on a next gen game.

Remedy is pretty much known to be working on Alan Wake 2.

Ruffian was rumored to be working on something for microsoft.

Development on ryse has gone silent and is rumored to be next gen and tone down the kinect gameplay.

That and microsoft probably has other exclusive games (both retail and xbla) in development.

My guess for launch.

Black Tusk new IP
Kinect sports or adventure something
New rare action/adventure game.
Forza 5

Xbla launch
Geometry Wars 3
Next Twisted Pixel game
Press Play game
What ever third party DD games there are.

Maybe we could see a Halo side game for xbla as well.

I just bought my first 360 a couple weeks ago. Not ready for a new one yet. I hope they don't stop making games any time soon

I agree. Even though I'll get the new system when it comes out in 2013, I have invested a lot of money into the 360. I want it to be supported for years longer.

I imagine they will be near 85 million sold by the end of next year. That is a consumer base that publisher and developers won't want to alienate. That is like free money for them. Though I think the BIGGEST hitters will be defaulted to the new consoles to push sales.

That's a hard one as I wouldn't be able to afford two that soon of each other. I would prob choose PS4 as I have had the PS1, PS2 and ps3. I would then most likely buy the next xbox maybe the next year or two.
