logistics players are definitely a luxury to have. No one drops uplinks

I have two modes as a logi: healing has me dropping ammo hives, repairing armor and reviving. Assault has me dropping up links, C4ing objectives and reviving. I use the latter when we need a spawn point or when all the objectives are ours to trap 'em.

Keep in mind, there are around 7000(!) planets in New Eden, in a few years we'll hopefully have all 7000 planets each with their unique districts and types (magma, desert, grassland) to be played on. So inevitably it'll feel like a persistent world.

Magma... Plasma... Storm... Ice...
Imagine playing on plasma or storm, even magma!
Magma and storm NO SHIELDS!
Plasma and Ice No armor!
Or random planet stats that effect your suits and dmg and oh god~ the possibilities.

PS4 version will be the definitive DUST experience

If you stick with with sniping, work on sniping operation. It reduces scope sway by 25% at level 5.

Don't be discouraged. I also suck at FPS games, but you know, you should play logistics like me. You earn more points reviving a merc than you do killing one. You also get points for repairing armor, repairing armor while that merc kills someone (guardian), when someone gets ammo from your hive and when someone spawns at your beacon. Don't think for a second that I'm going to let you go until you've tried this style of play! You don't need to be at the forefront. Logistic class mercs are the guardian angels of the battlefield and are VERY important. So please don't give up just yet. I will PM you when I have time with some info and advice as playing as a logi. Also, as Fijian said, you can also specialise in tanks or dropships!

However, if you did jump into EVE, that would be awesome as our empire could use more pilots, but yeah, letme send you some info and you try this new style out, K pal? Don't leave us!

Soft SP cap each day of around 30k IIRC, Once you hit that you get 50SP each battle.

Resets at downtime I believe.

CCP are currently reviewing the Cap and have a few suggestions somewhere around here.

This is incorrect. Unmodified the passive rate is something like 1 every 7 seconds. With a passive booster its one every 3. Just from counting elephants on my character.

well, in theory you could. but as im currently experiencing, SP is hard to come by....oh a tip for others though. pay attention to the multiplier by each skill. this shows you how hard the skill is to attain as more skill points will be required for that particular branch

In the "seeding the universe" keynote (found in the media hub under keynotes), CCP said that they plan to seed the planets over time. Snow, magma, plasma, all these will eventually find a place in the game. We are just at the VERY VERY beginning of something HUGE, and we will have been there from the start when all the others who talked shit about the game are drooling and coming all over themselves.

So if I have the SP can I just max out EVERY ability at some point?

When I had my match with the devs I had a maxed out char. He had 118,000,000 SP IIRC. Thats about 17,000 matches getting a consistent 7K SP CCP said it'd take about 7 years to max a character, however, there will always be new skills added. We are getting MTACS and probably fighter type jets plus other vehicle types so yeah, wouldn#t make maxing a char a mission any time soon

Does anyone have an idea how many players are in dust. Duboi and myself are tryin to keep on the leader boards but they only go to the 1000th place so we don't know how good this is in the grand scheme.

Directors, I have neglected my corporation management skill training and wont be able to accept any new members for 20 hours lol I wasn't expecting such rapid growth. We have 20 members at the moment. I will make this an immediate training focus and get my limit up substantially.

Ouch ghost thats going to hurt. Giving up a big chunk of sp to the corp management skill. You might be getting the next level soon but then you'll have to get the next level right after that because another ten people will be easy to come by.
