the original Nintendo Entertainment System it is then
for the record, i hated that bitching dog! isn't there a version where you can shoot his arse?
i got that a lot. i was quite young and very eager to play. but my skills were nothing special. suffice to say, the other person playing played hardcore mode all the time, every time, when i had a controller all the lives were wasted on me![]()

It was the NES for me. I got it around the time it was dying out and the SNES was just starting out, but I still loved it.

Jesus, you guys are making me feel old!
This first that I can remember was this bad boy (I was about 3 or 4 when I played this):
Coleco Telstar Ranger

Now for a standard console, the Atari 2600 & Atari 800 PC were my first true systems that I played on a regular basis!

My first console ever played was the Super Nintendo but first to officially own was the N64. First game played; Super Mario World and owned Donkey Kong Country. As for the N64; Mario Kart.

ZX Spectrum. Used to buy those programming books and spend about a week making a program that just made a stick man jump up and down. Loved Jet Set Willy!

My first was Pong. However, I can't find my exact Pong console image online. It was 2 pieces. The "main" controller was long, and it had 2 dials. One for the control, and one to choose the gametype. The second controller was connected to the long controller, but was much smaller and just had the one controller dial on it.
Odd that I can't find a picture online.

Guess I'm one of the very old gamers here too, I started off on a Binatone Colour TV Game Mark IV:

Then moved onto the Grandstand Video Entertainment System (Fairchild System F):

After that it was the BBC B as the first computer (dad got it free from the NHS):

Then we got the next one free which was the Acorn Electron (my all time favourite computer):

And I'll stop with the next one we got free from dad's work to help with medical research utilising the Prestel Cheese Wedge modem! So I've been online since the days of Prestel (1986) before the Web.

@Varsh, Nice list! I remember dialing into BBS's back in the day before the internetz, I use to dial in using this sweet gem:

Let me tell you, you haven't lived until you download a 500k picture over a 1200 baud (or slower) modem! I remember my first download was that size and it literally took around an hour to download! You kids now-a-days with your megabit speeds...get off my lawn!

Yeah when the medical research moved off the BBCs dad had to get a PC and we had a 3600 baud modem. It was great in those days and it was still before the Web! Mind you back then the cost of going online for even a minute was upwards of a 20 pence. There was so much bragging at school during those times that's for sure.
