Uh.. I'm not buying weapons and ammo out of fear for an apocalypse. It's a utilitarian thing. With weapons I can hunt, defend myself, and learn an invaluable skills in my free time (shooting, battery of arms, how to maintain\repair firearms). In addition, pretending there ever was societal collapse or civil unrest near me, I'd be ready. Finally, ammo has intrinsic value just like a firearm does. Because they're practical.

Useless? No. There are multiple situations where you would be forced to defend yourself, if not your friends or loved ones. Depends on the situation but let's not pretend bad things don't happen to good people.

plus, if I was prepping for a zombie apocalypse, I certainly wouldn't waste money on a friggin 9mm, .40 or .45 handguns. I would be buying .22 gun with a slew of rounds. cheaper plus zombies are dead which means they are decaying, .22 rounds would do the job.

Ruger mark III extremely accurate and has yet to jam on me.
