Played Journey and love the heck out of that game like seriously give that game to someone who's raging mad and watch they calm down after getting into the game.

It's like smoking weed man and it's so sad that you want to cry lol.

In fact I've played Flower and this glad I made the investment in both of them.

The Walking Dead deserves is, it least over that competition. lol. Was not the best year of this generation.

Also Half Life 2, called it even before I saw what games were in the running. No FPS has ever been more immersive than Half Life 2.

I feel like they only looked at a few older games though.

They had Shadow of the Colossus and HL2, then everything else was from the last few years.

Like F34R said, I do not think the game should have even been nominated lol. I have higher requirements for the Game of the Year award. Takes more than a story to win it for me.

If you have higher requirements there wouldn't have been a winner at all this year.

Anyway, the people have spoken and they obviously thought it was worthy..now if it was just a small room of judges you may have had an argument, but this is one of the most legit award shows out there.

This game and Journey were the only games that stood out in the category because they did something different, all the other nominations were sequels or generic. I'm slightly pissed off that Claptrap won best character too, cause he was already in Borderlands 1.

I agree! The AMC show is awesome, and I've been watching it since it came out. Tell tales game is really fantastic even though I didn't really believe I would enjoy it as much as I did. I haven't played a point and click adventure in a while and this series is just point on in every way. If anyone hasn't tried it, I advise them to pick up the whole package and play it straight through. I was so sad when each episode ended and I had to wait for the next one!!

Story will go a long way for me. I havent played The Walking Dead. I have however, played Journey. And while a lot of people im sure liked it, i got bored with it very quickly, and went back to MLB and Skyrim. Im not sure it really matters who won, and i could care less. ive been meaning to look at the walking dead for a while now and with a disc based collection coming out in a few days, and 2 conveniently placed nights off of work, i plan on playing the hell out of it. And ill probably love it, because i love TWD comics, and ive loved the tv series thus far, even though it strays so far from the comics.

I was surprised to find out that something like Halo 4 or Borderlands 2 or even Assassins Creed 3 didnt get it, but im not so big of a loser im going to jump on an internet forum like a stupid little girl who didnt get their pony for christmas and cry and bitch and moan because things didnt go the way i wanted them to. but thats just me.

It's certainly the biggest award show, but it definitely isn't the most legitimate. It's a big ad show, it's almost like winning the MTV movie awards.

Dishonored was neither generic nor a sequel. However, while I don't agree, The Walking Dead winning isn't really offensive to me.

Yep. This is it. It's basically an ad show, with skewed results. I'm also in the same boat as far as WD winning. I don't particularly care much, but I do have an opinion on it. IMO it didn't do much to deserve the award; until you put it in to the context of the actual award show. It's a popularity contest of sorts. Who will vote more? etc. Which brings your comment at it not being the most legit. +rep

Of course its a popularity contest, all awards are..if the thing wasn't popular it wouldn't win at all.

I kinda worded it as "of sorts" because it's more about popularity voting. It might have just had more of its fans voting, which doesn't merit the quality vs other titles. ZombiU is actually a good game.

I thought Mass Effect 3 and Assassins Creed 3 were total shit and didnt deserve to get nominated.
