So I am installing AC2 from Ezio trilogy and it has been like 30m and only at 27%. Is the ps3 always this slow installing games or is it just because it is almost 7gb? It is new PS3 super slim so def not a hard drive issue.

I am not being a fanboy, but the 360 has no problem
My friend said it took just under 25 mins
So for it to take over an half an hour and more... There is something wrong

It is a bit diff than the xbox 360 type of install. The games are not on disc per say just files to extract and install.

Still strange. But installation should be a snap, since the slim has more speed to process the installment
Maybe its the actual fact that the game is slow on the uptake

Installing from a disc is always slow.
PS3 drives are slow usully 5400RPM max but even those can write faster than a Blu ray drive can read.
Back in the day of floppy discs it was quicker to copy the entire discs to hard drive then start the install process.

Luckily I have the Slim.1 already.
If I get the other one, the new one, I'll have three "generations" of PS3's.
The same as I do now for the 360!! Epic! I'll send you a gift card.
As far as the install goes though, I doubt it'll be faster compared to any stock PS3 60GB, Slim, and SSlim...
