Way back in the day I actually bought my first PS3 because of FFXIII, that's how much of a fan I am. I really haven't been crazy about a FF game since X, though. Like a lot of old fans, I think I'm willing to keep giving new iterations a chance.

This is from the discussion thread I posted awhile ago:
I'd never forget how I got into the franchise. I never owned a playstation at the time. I was usually on my N64, remember seeing so many Final Fantasy commercials and kept on telling myself "when will this end, if its a "Final" Fantasy" and really upset FF9 seemed to be corny. It wasn't until my brother came back live in the house and he gave me his playstation which he only had: Wheel of Fortune, Gran Turismo 2. I went with the family at Wal-Mart and couldn't help but wanting another videogame. My parents didn't want to buy me one but my brother actually did me a favor and bought me one. It had to be one of the greatest hits they had on shelves; he wasn't going to get me anything that was new or $50. That's when I saw it behind the glass, Final Fantasy 8. I opened up the case and in disbelief; didn't know much about playstation but seeing 4 discs. I thought to myself "wow...four games in one!" Once I got home and inserted the disc. That introduction video was astonishing with its amazing orchestral and sword fight. From there on, I ended up getting FF7 for my birthday which is in November and FF9 before Christmas. And the time seemed to be right, it felt like fate. Planned on getting a ps2 and Final Fantasy X was going to be released some days before christmas. Until finally, to top the ice my brother got me Legend of Dragoon for Christmas. That year was incredibly epic.

Well I voted yes, but looking at it again probably wouldn't say I'm a fan still.
Played X, X-2, XII, and XIII(which I never finished was uninteresting). Of all that only one I found enjoyable was X I've finally gotten around to going backwards in the series picked up FFVI and plan to do the same with FFVII, FVIII, FFIX, and FFV.
I don't know when I'll get around to the others.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

So, if I pick yes, what question is that for? You have two questions, only able to pick one option.

Gambling is a serious addiction. It was like that before the points system was removed, but I never wanted to fix it. I had the double amount in the bank though. I could earn more from interest, yet now that's gone... The leaderboards still show that I have the most money in the bank.

Yep.
Still haven't bought XIII-2 yet though, kinda feel like that knocks me out of fan status.

I have bought two Final Fantasy games and had enjoyed them. Wouldn't say I'm a huge fan though. I did buy both FF: Spirits Within & FF: Advent Children...

I wouldn't even call Spirits Within a Final fantasy.
