FuturLab, developers of the award winning PlayStation minis title Velocity has signed a groundbreaking deal with Sony, seeing the platform holder provide funds for the development of content for PlayStation Vita in 2013, with the studio keeping control of its IP. “We’re incredibly excited to be working closely with PlayStation over the next year,” said James Marsden, FuturLab’s Managing Director, “bringing our particular brand of twitchy fun to the PlayStation Vita.”
“Sony has provided a great package that means we retain full control of our IP, which is a perfect deal for us.”
Shahid Ahmad, Senior Business Development Manager at SCEE that the company was “particularly pleased to be working with FuturLab to bring new and exciting games to PlayStation Vita,” saying “FuturLab has a unique and fun approach to entertainment and we see their games as being a fantastic addition to the ever growing catalogue of PS Vita games.”
