Not really. Labeling him as mentally unstable is a perfectly valid assumption. Trying to say something about exactly what was going through his head is something I won't do and nobody should do, because quite simply we have no idea. Most likely none of us have ever been in a situation where those kind of things have entered our mind.

But mentally unstable? Yes.

Something like this that happened, is an exclusively human event. You could take the most ruthless and efficient killers of the animal kingdom, and if you were able to explain to them what this person did, they wouldn't make sense of it. Killing out of necessity, out of protection, for survival, etc. is one thing. Something like this simply cannot be done by someone in a good state of mind.

A similar incident happen in Europe(involving little children) and there was a ban on legal ownership of guns. The magician is pulling the same trick twice.

Hell look at the events of 9/11 and what our government did in response to that and the shortfalls that led to it occurring. You will see that they had a ridiculous response that people accept primarily because we haven't been attacked again. So obviously all of it must be good and working to have kept us safe so far, right?

I completely agree that reactive policies don't work, but let's face it nobody wants to face up to the real long term issues because they require lots of money and don't yield any real noticeable trends for decades.

Tends to start unnecessary arguments in the Rugby forum I go to, which is full of Welsh, Scottish, Irish, English, South Africans, Aussies & Kiwis - all of whom happen to use the word liberally. And the handful of Americans tend to not like it especially when it's used in a debate.
