Yeah South Park will be awesome... I want that so badly!!!
THQ are pretty good Actually. Red Faction Guerilla was very well made, Armageddon not so much, but it was still a good game.
Darksiders and II are fantastic and I really hope we get games for the second two horsemen....![]()

Please not EA. We can kiss our PC exclusives goodbye then.
You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!

Since they are going to finish up the current games in development, they can take whatever profit and pay the staff and debts

It sucks man...
On topic:
Now the creators, who will snap them up and will this make waves in other game companies to actually learn from this and be more cautious with their companies

They've made many games I've loved even some hidden gems when I was a kid Ray Tracers comes to mind it was highly different from what I remember.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

True.... So this point on
They will have a few studios that are still up and running while this is sorted
They can still operate on a really small scaleLast edited by claud3; 12-20-2012 at 19:59.

It sucks for THQ, but I haven't been interested in many THQ games for the past few years. I felt the quality was kinda weak. I kinda do hope the WWE contract goes to a different company, wouldn't mind a change in that franchise.

I enjoyed Saints Row 3 so it's a bit of a shame. Have they actually started Saints Row 4 yet or was it just a concept?
I'm interested to see how well the South Park game turns out - it's been in development for quite a while now compared to the length of production for other film/TV tie-ins.

South park is coming to be cool...
Saints row series was good
But this WWE contract will be the biggest lost to them and who picks this up,out improve it

No big publisher was ever going to purchase EA out right and especially not Sony in it's current state.
With THQs debt wiped out it makes a potential purchase a bit more likely but most publishers just want the studios and IP.
Still we have 60 days sor someone else to make a counter offer at clearlake.
I could see a sony or microsoft buy the company now and clash and burn to only keep the studios. Even more likely is they will probably wait to see if clearlake plans to sell assests.

I'm not a big fan of Saints Row 2 played it after borrowing from a friend. I guess it felt like it took itself way to serious. If I ever pick of SR3 which I should that might change.

The only game franchise of THQ that I care about right now is Darksiders. Darksiders is genius. The first one was perfection - the best action-adventure hack-n-slash "with RPG elements" (I know, I know, this term is way overused) out there. Darksiders 2 is a very good game too, but it needed at least another 6 months to be polished and changed before shipped. Vigil games once said they wanted to release the game sometime in 2013. That would be ANOTHER 12 MONTHS of developing time! Some mechanics and rules that other games with features similar to Darksiders 2's couldn't be realized because they ran out of time. The game was rushed out and that's sad. Still, it is a fantastic piece of art and I love it. But you can clearly see in the last two worlds that they ran out of time because THQ said so.
I hope Vigil Games gets bought by a publisher who gives them enough budget and time to make a great Darksiders 3. Someone must see the potential of this franchise.
Everyone who reads this: Go buy Darksiders 1 (and 2 after that), it's extremely cheap and one of the best games of all time. Play it, see the end and then tell me that it isn't one of the most amazing games you've ever played and that the ending is one of the best you've ever experienced. If Darksiders 3 builds ontop of this epic ending... there is huge potential. Someone with money and the right intent should buy Vigil games (to "save" them?) and make a true sequel. Darksiders 2 was a "pre-/sidequel". Maybe a TRUE prequel would work too, but I think we have to finally move beyond the last three epic words from War...
I didn't read the thread, so I hope I don't mention something that has been mentioned before. But I saw in a German youtube video game magazine that said that THQ's got 40% back... whatever those 40% were, but I think it means that they were able to pay 40% of their debt. And they got all that money because of their newest business model: the "humble bundle". Don't know what it is. Some kind of "here are 5 games - tell us what you want to pay for it!" model. Whatever. Seems to work.Everybody go to xboxdone.com !!!
