We got our daughter Little Big Planet 2 for Christmas. She had to open her gifts early. Anyways it has been downloading updates for over 2 fricken hours now. Is this normal? I am ready to go throw this in my driveway and run over it with my truck! We haven't even got to play the dang game yet. Is this normal?

Yeah the game has had a lot of updates since it came out like 2 years ago.
Since its been going for so long, that must mean your internet connection isn't the best.
You can always cancel it and when it prompts you press O to NOT update and just play the game without any of the patches and do the update one day when you're out of the house and leave the PS3 on

Let it finish if it is on the last update. It will start over if you cancel.

If you ever go to download Dust 514 you can expect the same thing. Also GT5.

the way updates are handled on PS3 doesnt help, it makes you downlaod all patches seperaely then installs them one by one.

Problem is that it came out a long time ago and has had lots of updates since.
Best thing to do (if you're not bothered about playing online) is disable the internet connection in the PS3 settings then it will start without any patches. The 1GB patch for vita control has also come out recently so that may be slowing the process.
Bring on PlayStation 2013!

That is exactly it. When you live out in the middle of no-where you are limited in choices if you even have a choice. We have a middle of the line connection and I bet we pay more for it than all of yours fast connections. My personal opinion after all this is F the updates and just play the fricken game already. It took 7 hours to do the updates BTW. I think we will just start the system and do updates and not plan on playing till the next day or we will play without updates and update later.

Cannot get much more remote than this they had no internet so did it themselves and pay a tenner per month for it.
Woudn't be great for online gamign but for downloads and updates its fine.
