Hey PSU, hey Internet,
So, thanks to a friend at school this past semester, I was told about this virtual economy that has cryptocurrency, and I really want to try it out seeing as how you can actually buy things with Bitcoins. I did some research on it, but I'm not entirely sold on it. I'm not worried about it being a scam, I'm worried that if I use it, I'll go to jail. However, it states that there are no current laws outlawing Bitcoins. So, I wanna be the regular user. I wanna use it to buy things like videogames and movies and have them delivered to my house.
I'm sure some of you are in on this virtual economy, and you can PM me if you don't think you need to post in here, but anyway, this is what I've read on Bitcoins so far.
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/FAQ
A faq explaining Bitcoin
http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2...gal-gray-area/
An article on Bitcoins and how some people have used them via DEEP WEB to buy drugs and launder money, but it still remains legal as long as you're regular user.
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Myths
And myths and misconceptions about Bitcoin.
It sounds like the only drawbacks are being hacked, and the use of a lot of CPU power to mine the coins.
But I really wanna get in on this if it's legal, so my question to you is, IF YOU USED BITCOIN is,
Are there any safety and legal concerns I should worry about if I use this service?
Do I need to use Tor to use Bitcoin as just a regular user, or can I freely do it without having to worry about using this service anonymously? And I would only be buying videogames, movies, music, basically anything legal that would be a normal transaction.
Or what more can you tell a noob like me about this?
Thanks

Use that to figure out if it's worth it and how long it'd take to payoff.
