But isn't that the thing Sony takes risks but loses loses money PR can't afford to nurture the risks.

Microsoft from a retail standpoint plays it safe but puts out a lot of content on XBLA that doesn't need as much marketing or needs to sell as much.

Look at Starhawk which is a good game but bombed hard on the retail circuit. Unlike Fprza Horizon or Fable the Journey which both failed expectations but can still do well in bundles Starhawk probably won't get that chance.

However of Starhawk had been scaled back about and sold on PSN only for $15 similar too Section 8: Prejudice or War hawk the game might have done better.

I agree. Starhawk even looked and felt more like a PSN game. Sony should have just distributed it that way. As it turned out it flopped at retail.

Warhawk = Epic awesomeness. Starhawk = No Dice. At least that is my opinion. I craved a Warhawk 2, full retail title (digital and boxed) with an awesome campaign added, and HUGE focus on the sweetness that is the multiplayer.

I think there is more diversity on the PS3 than there is on the Xbox 360.

You can go through every genre and find titles on both, the only exclusion is something like LBP, which the nearest xbox has is something like viva piniata, and vica versa. The PS3 has way to many shooter franchises. Which is ironic. Given what people believe vs reality.

Thats true. I dont see a 360 answer to games like Uncharted, Infamous or Motorstorm for example. Yes, there are lots of shooters on PS3 (and I like that) but theres plenty of other stuff on it too. Next year starts of with 3 different genres - TLOU, Beyond and GoW Ascension.

Infamous, open world city game where a super powered humans runs around?? Really? Cant think of anything similar on the 360?

MS nearest thing to Uncharted would be something like Gears I guess, but then Sony doesn't have anything like Halo of Gears, so as I say...meh.

I like my car racing games, so I very happy with MS's support in that area.

No I cant. Unless youre going to drag multiplats into a topic about exclusives. I do agree about the racing genre though which is my favorite genre along with FPS. But how is Gears the same genre as Uncharted? Werent we talking about diversity of genres?

Oh yeah, Crackdown. Thats really more of a free roaming TPS than anything else actually. I was thinking Prototype (multiplat).

The PS3 exclusives are more exclusive since they rarely if ever end up on PC.

There really is none as both line ups are pretty similar to each other. I think mivrospfr does a better job at making lots motion stuff fun to play presentation wise.

Also I like XBLA has more game game exclusives compared to the PSN art house stuff that seems to be most of what sony publishes.

I didnt bring XBLA or PSN into this because the topic is about "big budget titles."

I would consider something like minecraft, and the money poured into development on that title as big budget.
That game is continually being improved. Buy then again its sales reflect that.

I'm fed up with generic sci fi and driving games on the 360. There is lack of talent in the Microsoft studios because they are all born and bred from Hollywood

Not my kind of game but yeah alot of people are enjoying it apparently. Its a shame that a great game like Forza Horizon isnt selling though.

I havent seen any Horizon sales numbers from Microsoft so I have no idea how it is selling.
