Merry F-in Xmas......
PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

Not a troll. I was at work. Got home round 1030 n my window was smashed out, front door wide open.
Unfortunately the police were of no help at all. There were 2 police cars just around the corner watching a house that was burned down earlier that afternoon. They saw nothing n told me to call dispatch because they were at a crime scene... Sitting in their car for the past who knows how many hours watching a house that burned down 6hours ago...
Called dispatch n someone finally showes up 3 1/2 hours later.

No real clue WHAT to do next. I've had things stolen years ago back when I was in college and what not but NOTHING like this has ever happened to me before.
No insurance covering stolen equipment. Lot of good extended warranties do when the item is not broken, but gone..
My sister inlaw says I should call the credit companies, that I may beable to recoup some of the loss from atleast the xmas presents purchased on credit. Most were cash transactions, but at this point any little bit helps.
Got off the phone a little while ago after going through this massive hassle with removing my payment details associated to my XBOX Live account. Don't want the thieves going on a 360 shopping spree to make matters even worse. Since I have a current Live subscription, it would not allow me to remove my paypal from my account. Had to call in, be put on hold, transfered, hold, transfer blah blah blah for a little over an hour for what should've been a simple mundane task... /sigh
Put bars on all my windows today. Now I nolonger feel safe in my own home. I feel like im in jail always lookin over my shoulders and always worrying when im away...Last edited by faaeng; 12-27-2012 at 23:09.

Thanks. Me too.
I really hate to think how many other families Christmas was ruined because of these lowlifes. I know I couldn't have been the only house they hit. I really hope something turns up, but knowing our PD I'm not really expecting much unfortunately.
This is the same PD we called last new years when a drunk kid drove into my boys corner store. Cop showed up, chatted up with the kid since he knew him, proceded to help him push the car out while yelling at us to stop standing around and to help before someone shows up n sees...... o_O?Last edited by faaeng; 12-28-2012 at 00:01.

Sorry to hear u got rob. If it was me, I would try to remember all the people I let in my house. Especially if it was one of those who is a friend of a friend.
Also if u feel unsafe while in ur own home I suggest u get some heat.
What in the mother of jesus...ok, u need to get a fucking gun and protect urself cause the police in ur area ain't doing shit. This is the same PD we called last new years when a drunk kid drove into my boys corner store. Well that really sucks. I can imagine how bad you feel, wish you the best recovering and hopefully those bastards will get caught but thats most unlikely and thats the thing which pisses me off the most.

Damn man, I don't think I can be of any help, so my best wishes to you and hope you get everything back.

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss dude. It's a huge knock back to lose so much and then to feel insecure in your own home.

I've always wanted a pair of Grado's so I can't imagine how it feels to have one stolen.
Right now I live in a building of studio units with a front gate. I live 3 stories up so my single window is safe.
I too have no insurance. Do I need it?
