Activision’s The Walking Dead FPS – First Footage Unveiled?

As you may already know, Activision is preparing an FPS title, based on the ‘The Walking Dead’ franchise. While the big publisher has not revealed anything – officially – as of yet, Guru3D’s member ‘Stone Gargoyle’ has shared a video from what looks like a prototype version of that FPS game. It looks kind of meh and generic, though we should note that the final game may not look anywhere close to it. Enjoy the video after the jump!

This game,as an FPS, had a great chance to shine, being a proper SURVIVAL ZOMBIE GAME not this crap but sadly, that is not going to happen.


It does look like alpha/beta so a bit unfair to write it off, but i mean it looks average at best. Hope i am wrong.

Depending how it is I could see myself getting it for $19.99, though we got Dead Island coming so this is in general not needed.

Doesn't even look half as good as Dead Island, which doesn't have amazing graphics but sure is way better than this, this looks like a PS2 game if you ask me.

i rather like it but tbh that point & click Walking Dead looked meh tbh really disliked it, this is far from finished i think still needs alot of work. hope it adapted to the TV series.

You can judge the prototype for what it is. You can always re-evaluate your judgement.

I hope this is a very early build. The graphics are not very good. Lots of screen tearing too...

I wouldn't expect anything groundbreaking from Activision, visuals or gameplay, but it's nearly 2013 and we're still floating up and down ladders? We've got all of these different hack, slash and reloading firearm animations but nothing for something as basic as climbing.

Pointless, prototypes rarely look good. All I can say is that the visual style is very Left 4 Dead-ish.

I watched the ign preview/ interview for this but wasn't impressed by it. The developer seemed more interested in showcasing how smashing a watermelon makes good head crushing sounds ( who doesnt know about this by now? )
Also why do we still have games that have no animations with stuff like ladder movement? It annoyed me back in hl2 days with the steering wheel moving with the characters pyshic powers. Kinda ruins the 'immersion' of a first person game for me.

Either way, they've shown this off way too early ( clearly to use the attention that tell tale games recieved from their walking dead games).
Will keep an eye on it but atm its not giving off good impressions.

They really need to make a new engine or buy a license to a new engine because the current one looks really really outdated more so than Source engine.
I said it before for the new COD it looks like a Quake reskin, the textures look better and higher quality but its stil the same low polygon worlds with zero interactivity.

I am not one to much care abotu graphics I do still play Quake and half life from time to time but those games are over 10 years old.

Counter Strike Global offensive is still like that, no ladder animations. If they do them then it means the movement has to slow down to the ladder animation like in BF3 which sucks climbing ladders can't even look up properly.

When it's all there is, how is it pointless? People will/can judge what they are shown for what it is. Opinions aren't always set in stone, they can change if shown otherwise.

People shouldn't write-off this game based on what is shown but they can judge it. Unless, ofcourse, a game like this just doesn't interest them. You wouldn't find them in this thread in that case.

I'm getting a more 'Call of Duty' style from the video. It pretty much looks like COD to me.
