Wonderbook over 50,000 units sold in Spain and Portugal

Wonderbook: the book of spells is still a bestseller in Iberia (Portugal and Spain ).According to figures provided by GFK the Playstation 3 exclusive game has sold 54,000 units, counting packs with the Playstation 3 500 gigabytes, the best selling console of Christmas in Spain according to GfK, one of the largest market research institutes.

More than ten thousand people have been during the month of December through the magical season of Wonderbook that Sony opened between 6 and 23 December and which was known figures in the entertainment world. The anticipation of this game has become one of the top selling products dedicated to children.

It did have a lot of advertising so it probably did quite well WW, more than LBPK, PSASBR and SC2 since they got next to no advertising.

Also, there are some pretty good games for kids out there that incorporate both decent graphics and gameplay. Wonderbook fails in the latter department. Hell, even the official E3 presentation didn't quite work as planned.

Let me quote the Gametrailers review:

Yes but there is difference between saying a game looks bad and i don't like it compared to saying the game has fail written all over it, which is obviously BS considering how well it is doing in these countries.

For a hardcore gamer who has dark souls 2 in his signature i understand why you don't like it.

I was specifically referring to the gameplay aspect, which seems to not hold a candle to other casual titles out there (hence the quote from the gametrailers review).

I love simple arcade titles (a la Time Crisis with PS Move) just as much as the next guy. Having added Dark Souls 2 to my signature does not mean that I cannot enjoy casual titles or that I'm out of the target audience.

However, I can differentiate between rewarding gameplay and a lack thereof. That is my whole point that you don't seem to grasp.

And trust me, even kids (or whoever you consider to be the target audience of Wonderbook) can do that.

Looks like Sony is about to tap into the casual market with Wonderbook alone.

Best core games, soon to be best casual games. I think the PS4 is slated for a great generation.

By that definition I can go into any exclusive game thread and say "it has complete fail written over it" and nobody should say anything because if they do its just because its exclusive to their system

What does exclusiveness to PS3 mean anyway? other then it can't be as good as PS3 gamers & critics say it is? That the general thing round here, No?

I guarantee if I went into a Gears or Uncharted thread and said similar words I'd be infracted.

For the record I have no interest in Wonderbook either but at the end of the day its aimed at 3-10 year olds. And yeah there are better "casual" games, at 3 years old I was playing Sonic the Hedgehog which is much better than half the games released this gen anyway.
