Will UK savegame data be compatible with those of other PAL countries?

So I've made the mistake to buy Deus Ex: Human Revolution in Germany without knowing that for some stupid reason it would not let me play the game in English and instead only in German, Frensh, Italian and Spanish.

It seems that the English synchronisation is exclusive to English speaking territories (which never happened to me before because I could always select English language in German game versions).

So, my question would be whether I could buy the game again from the UK (there is a nice 5 pound deal on the PSN store) and continue playing where I left off? I know that NTSC save files will not work with PAL versions but in this case it would be two PAL versions from different countries within the SAME region.

Could anybody shed some light on this?

hope the steps in the link actually work, as i've never tried

seems i misread that link. looks like there are 3 EU version (im not sure why) and the languages on the disc are affected by the console default language

Exactly. I have no clue why anybody would do that...

And that raises the question: Are save files still compatible even though there are three different PAL versions out there?

this is the best i can find

hi i just tried a uk pal save on my nz gta4 and it doesnt show up for you to load the save.

saves seem to only be compatible if you have same disc version number check on the disc under the playstation logo

NZ disc has BLES-00258
UK (i think) BLES-00229
US (i think) BLUS-30127

and the saves files follow this as well ie

NZ save BLES00258SGTA4XX (XX being 00-12 save slots)
UK save BLES00229SGTA4XX
US save BLUS30127SGTA4XX

NZ is PAL also.

Skyrim is in a similar position as Deus Ex, with 3 EU versions.
