have had the original ps3 and changed to the slim when that came out but have recently been having trouble with it so was wondering wether it would be worth upgrading to the super slim or just stick with it and upgrade the hard drive??

I was wondering, as I just got 500GB version PS3, what's the point of this huge HDD? It's not like you can copy games in there or anything...

I've got the super slim. It saves a bit of space if you need that, otherwise just upgrade your harddrive.

Is the super slim the way to go for new Playstation owners who haven't got any of the previous consoles?

I don't have a PS3 yet and am considering getting the Super Slim. I will certainly not be stuffing the console with other media, so storage is a non-issue. My main concerns are getting the console that emits the least amount of heat, is of course least susceptible to wear, and that's about it since I know other features like playback and such are the same.
If anyone has an informed opinion, which console would you recommend for me? Slim or Super Slim?

My Slim doesn't get hot I've ran it for 7 to 12 hours str8 with no problems with it at all. I would imagine the super slim would be more energy efficient.

Upgrade to the super slim only if the issues with your current slim will get worst.
