Is Metal Solid Gear very much a war based game? I must admit I enjoyed the shooting element of Uncharted 3 which surprised me, I am not sure if I would like a game that wasn't balanced out with other stuff. Is it Metal Gear Solid 4: 25th Anniversary Edition (PS3) that you would recommend?
What sort of thing do you do on this type of RPG? Is it puzzles and action?
Is this one tricky?

MGS4 is a stealth/action game. Healthy blend of sneaking around and shooting. Overall a fantastic game that belongs in any PS3 collection. You can choose to take down enemies with stealth kills, close-quarters combat, non-lethal methods, or firearms.
Demon's Souls is definitely a tricky game, as is Dark Souls. Both are very challenging, yet rewarding games that will surely test your patience. However, if you find yourself as addicted to the games as I was, it will truly be one of the greatest video game experiences.__________

Man alive i did not sign up to provide games for you to play... How freaking lazy have you to be and not get out and do it yourself. Or do you not know how to use the internet and find them yourself
JK mate
I could again recommend

dark souls
Uncharted 1,2
Assassin's Creed 2 Enzio Trilogy
Assassin's Creed 3

MGS4 is the quintessential action game to have ever been produced.
wanna stealth it up, you can do that. wanna shoot it up? you can do that too. feel like playing like a saint and not kill anyone (even the bosses) you can do that also. wanna play as a ghost and not raise an alarm - not be seen, game is open for you to do that. as Action games go. MGS4 has no equal.
this game is my top game ever (see sig) for a reason. i LOVE this game. technically flawless, presentation of no equal, directed meticulously and beautifully. the exposition might get a bit much, but the action is top notch. EPIC is an understatement.
about it being a war based game. this is a quote from the games protagonist

devs have created a HUGE world full of things to find and explore. there are puzzles, but they aren't too difficult.
Skyrim is a more fully realised game than oblivion. its technical achievements stand head and shoulders above that of its predecessor.
this video should fill you in, the president of Bethesda studios talks about everything in the game
it depends on your definition of trickyIs this one tricky?
if you consider throwing your controller out the window followed by your sofa, then yes it is tricky.
Demons Souls and its Sequels are HARD. you will die in this game. and you will die alot. what makes it unique is that the devs have incorporated this into the game. its quite well done too.

Ico/Shadow of the Colossus collection
Neir
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
Rayman Origins
Shadows of the Damned
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (might take some heat for this one, Lol)
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Portal 2
3D Dot Game Heroes
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Heavy Rain
Tried to avoid listing games other people have already, but just noticed Deus Ex is on someones. That said, it's excellent - definitely pick it up!
On the rest, I've tried to include some more 'obscure' titles (Neir/Brothers in Arms/Sacred 2) that I found fun. Not necessarily rated highly.Last edited by *goo; 01-05-2013 at 13:56.

I have that (it came with the bundle) and it looks ok but I am not massively into racing games.
Cheers, I'll look out for that.
I am going to stick to slightly older games while I catch up (with the possible exception of GTA5, it'll be a good chance to catch up on great games for less cash.

Yes I have been updating my opening post as I read each of the responses. I downloaded infamous2 and Little Big Planet 2 from PS+ but didn't thin much to either to be honest. I will try them again though. I did see Uncharted 2 and LA Noire both for £7.99 in Game today (both pre owned). I might go for those.

Some fun, older action games that are cheap:
Heavenly Sword
Stranglehold
Mirror's Edge
Bioshock
Metal Gear Solid 4: Sons of Liberty
Resident Evil 5 (lousy survival-horror game but fun action game)
Shut up and play games

Yes, they will only last as long as your subscription but with new games added every month I don't really see a reason to stop paying

In response to LBP2 and Infamous 2, I recommend you buy Uncharted 2. That game is amazing and has a really great story. It's almost like playing a movie. It will hook you in!

LBP is what it is -- a cute platforming game that has a large collection of community made content that you can enjoy. The game is literally what you make of it.
Before you make any purchases, do yourself a favor and spend an ounce more of effort and look into what you're getting. You were disappointed with LittleBigPlanet and fortunately you didn't pay for it (outside of your subscription), but if you don't spend a bit of time looking into what you're buying in the future, you're likely to be disappointed.
Pro tips:
* Youtube, "{Game} Review", "Let's Play {Game}" or "{Game} Gameplay" to actually see some gameplay... be warned, spoilers will pop out. Without context, it's not always an issue... unless Sephiroth is driving a sword through Aerith's head. That can't be unseen.
* Visit Metacritic to see an aggregate of all the reviews for the game. Don't just look at the number but actually read some peoples opinions on the game.
* Find a website or reviewer that you like and stick with them. I visit IGN.com, Gamespot.com, Screwattack.com, Amazon.com for professional or customer reviews and I appreciate the opinions of Ben "Yhatzee" Crowshaw, "Motherfucker Mike" Mike Matei, Kevin VanOrd or Angry Joe.
Also, instead of asking us to give you an endless list of games that we enjoyed, you could use Google...
"Top 10 Playstation 3 games 2012"
"Top 10 action games on the Playstation 3"
"Worst PS3 Games"
...or something similar and get hundreds of similar lists. If you're just looking for a list that would spare everyone the time invested in a thread like this.
Hope this didn't come off too rude; sincerely trying to help.

Awsome news mate.... I have never seen the forum come together like this in about a week or so to help a friend out...
The last time was where i thought bill gates was my dad and the forum came together to convince me that he was nothing more than a nerd and my dad was actually my actual dad that lives in my house
I was so gutted lmaoLast edited by claud3; 01-08-2013 at 00:42.
