i had forgotten about LA Noire, i must apologise.
it is a tremendously fun game with a great story and top of the shelf facial expressions.
as for Uncharted 2, i played that in one sitting. no jokes. i sat down and could not bring myself to put it down. the Pacing in this game is unreal. as such Uncharted 3 could not top it in my opinion
another game to add to your list IF you can stomach the first part of the trilogy (which plays god awfully) is the Mass Effect Trilogy.
Mass Effect is an Action RPG.
in it, you make the decisions. save a extinct race? go out on a limb for a team mate? these choices are yours. and so are the repercussions.
Essentially. you are commander Shepard a space marine of high ranking and prestige selected to be the first human spectre (a group of elite soldiers from around the galaxy)
why am i asking you to stomach the first game? because Mass Effect tracks your decisions across its games. and some decisions in Mass Effect 1 can potentially cripple your options in Mass Effect 2 and 3 (some decisions are HUGE) which is fun to see play out. whilst it might sound bad on paper, to know that a bad decision was yours and lamenting on it is quite a unique gameplay mechanic. 'Tense' might sound like a small word. but when your back is against the wall in the latter parts of the story it is a word of justifiable standing. the 20+ hour campaign in part 3 will not feel like it

It has been a while but I thought I'd update you with what I have been playing,
Couple of mates lent me the following,
Assassins Creed - didn't like it
Medal of Honour - not bad but didn't grab me
COD Modern Warfare and Modern warfare 2 - didn't like
Prince of Persia - I didn't like it' but my boy does.
Bioshock - not bad but didn't grab me
COD Black Ops - not bad
My boy has also been playing Star Wars Lego (complete saga) and we have been disappointed that it seems identical to the Wii version.

^That's good, so that means you're not a newb. I see potential there.
Unless you already did, you should tell us a little more about your gamer personality so we can pick out the best.
i.e. Do you prefer single player, competitive online or co-op/online co-op?
That sort of stuff.Last edited by Sufi; 02-24-2013 at 20:52.

I forgot to post, I went on a spree last week (albeit the games have been put away until my birthday), the games I got were based on a lot of the recommendations I got on here.
- Red Dead Redemption
- Old Tomb Raiders (3 game pack)
- Far Cry 2
- Far Cry 3
- GTA 4
- Hitman
- Unchartered
- Sleeping Dogs
Can't wait to get in amongst them!
