I just bought a new PS3 Super Slim 500GB, and tried to hook it up to my monitor (DVI only) using HDMI-DVI cable. The end result - static on the screen. The monitor recognizes the connection, because when I turn off PS3, it goes to sleep too.

The cable and the monitor are both working, because I use them with my laptop as a second screen.

I did try the reset 10sec thing, I don't have anywhere else where to try out my PS3 and I bought it from an online store.

Any help please?
