Thoughts guys....

Dashboard. Are we going to see a newly revamped dashboard specific to the Xbox 3? Or will they keep the same dashboard on both the 360 and Xbox 3, and just add some menu items for Xbox 3 features that might not be present on the 360? I know that they want METRO and Windows 8 UI consistency.

I just wish they get rid of the disk tray, dislike that so much ( have an auto eject little button on the side or something, to force the disk out of needed)

I still don't understand why some call it 720. When is the last time you saw a console where they doubled the last number to give it a name?

This timeframe seems off. THis seems REALLY early. The iPhone for instance goes into production a few months prior to launch and they pump out tens of millions of them. Consoles launch with a million or less usually. I have a hard time believing it takes half a year. Of course there's the possibility that they're going to flood the market with them.

worked for apple. Still it remains to be seen what MS decides to call it. Even the 2010 internal documents from MS called it xbox 720

I don't think they will call it Xbox 720 or Xbox...maybe Xbox Surface, Xbox Metro or something to that liking. I am also 99.999999999% sure that they will have a new dashboard, it would be dumb of them not to refresh it to make it different and new compared to the 360. I also agree with LfCpS3 that they need to ditch the tray loading, both Sony and Nintendo use a slot loading drive and I would think the slot loading ones are more durable than the tray drives since the gears in those can easily become stripped and the tray can easily be broken off.

It would be cool if they just called it Xbox like Itachi mentioned. It would work well because we won't see another Xbox for a long time after, since next gen will probably last aaaaages
