I left The Witcher 2 dl'ing over night. When i woke up steam had crashed. I restarted steam after i got home from work to realize that it had completely restarted my download after 7 gbs had already been downloaded. During the last couple hours it has crashed with a not responding Windows error. Is anyone else having any of these problems. If so is there anyway to fix it? I read some forums saying that since the big picture update others have had crashing issues. Im trying to avoid the same thing that happened last night again!

Nope, no issues here...unless you count not enough time to play all my Steam games...

I'm trying to figure out what it is. It tends to crash when the speed of the dl starts fluctuating and bottoms out. I don't know if that is something to do with my wireless connection, my wireless card in my pc faulty or just influx in net speed. Idk what it is but it only crashes during the updates. It has always does the flux in speed like that from time to time but never crashes. I'm thinking of trying to reinstall steam. Only option at this point.

Yeah you can try reinstalling. I haven't had any problem with Steam except 2 nights when I was getting terrible lag but that's it. Maybe you're wireless is getting over loaded? I dunno...

reinstall network drivers
Malware bytes scan
Test with an ethernet cable see if it persists. Move computer if needed.Last edited by keefy; 01-09-2013 at 12:28.

I've had a game or two stop responding once but nothing else.

I'm even getting blue screens of death from it. Steam crashed then upon clicking close program BSOD. I don't know what the hell is going on. Hopefully it isn't bad hardware but most of what Info I have found points to the blue screen coming from driver issues. I need to run memtest to see what the hell is going on. Luckily if it is bad hardware my PC is under 1 year old so it should be under warranty.
