PS3 - No power

My slim seems to not receive any power, unplugged the power supply and moved the two screws inside but nothing changed, anyone knows a solution ?! can i just replace the power supply ? and if i have to buy a new PS3 is there any chance i can transfer my saves from the dead one ?

it's a 120GB slim, problem is i'm afraid if i replace it then the problem might be something else.

The guy at SONY who made the decision to make the Harddrive re-format itself is a big idiot who deserves to die, i can't imagine how many people lost all their saves because of stupid decision like this.

The hard drive would not cause the console to not turn on. It could cause the PS3 to turn on and then back off again though.

If you have zero power, then replace your power supply. Try using a different power cord first though, always start with the cheapest parts first.

Try to smack the PS3? I don't know, it sounds like there's some loose connection or something to me tho. Or try to wiggling the connectors around.....

Tried a lot of things, tried another power supply from a similar model, and did nothing. Ended up buying a 500GB slim.

Hey Guys i have the same problem but this came in to my mid and might work , so what i thought was that a ps3 slim needs 250w to work so what if i used a 250w battery source and hooked it up to the ps3 will it work please reply asap thanks

You can change the power supply just make sure you get the correct one.

Sorry to hear about your save troubles When my 60GB Fat YLOD'd last year, I lost 70-80% of all my saves too. The others were ones that happened to be on the PS Plus cloud since joining several months prior.

Try taking the hdd out and get an external hdd case. See if that will work to at least try to salvage your saves
