it's a 120GB slim, problem is i'm afraid if i replace it then the problem might be something else.
The guy at SONY who made the decision to make the Harddrive re-format itself is a big idiot who deserves to die, i can't imagine how many people lost all their saves because of stupid decision like this.Last edited by Abdou23; 01-09-2013 at 10:18.

The hard drive would not cause the console to not turn on. It could cause the PS3 to turn on and then back off again though.
If you have zero power, then replace your power supply. Try using a different power cord first though, always start with the cheapest parts first.

Try to smack the PS3? I don't know, it sounds like there's some loose connection or something to me tho. Or try to wiggling the connectors around.....

Tried a lot of things, tried another power supply from a similar model, and did nothing. Ended up buying a 500GB slim.
Bye Bye game saves.

Try taking the hdd out and get an external hdd case. See if that will work to at least try to salvage your saves
